That girl has a voice like a cannon. And I say that as a compliment of course. her voice made it catchy and sound like it could pass for a real song. She has power and prescence in her voice. She should seriously take up singing as a career.
Smith Smithinson Yeah, I know he did that... If he was a real hero though, he would have stayed behind to face the government, if he truly believed that the American public would hate the idea that the government uses their information, wouldn't it be fair to assume that they would come and rally behind him if he was imprisoned? Also, he made A TON of money spying on people for the government. For years he worked for the very program that he eventually exposed, isn't it only fair for him to give that money back to the American people? Finally, the only thing that he did do was make the U.S. afraid of all surveillance programs done by the government. PRISM helped stop 50+ terrorist attacks, and it didn't have to spy on anybody at all without warranted reason. If you don't sign all of your e-mails with "Happy Jihad" you'd have nothing to worry about. Even though this revelation does ask serious questions about the power of the government, we shouldn't be talking that much about Snowden, he's a coward living comfortably behind enemy lines, just peeking his head out of the shadows once in a while. I wouldn't want to bring up his name at a debate on surveillance, much less call him a hero. I mean that's fair to say right?
Willem Cohen Yeah he is a coward for not coming home and facing a show trail ala.Thomas Drake, John Kiriakou and Chelsea Manning. Where he will certainly end up in jail without being able to defend himself. It would be stupid and moronic to come home to something that would certainly put a person in jail for an indef amount of time.
Lucinda Sanchez ...They're not making fun of Rockapella, they're making fun of Edward Snowden. Since he was running around the world and couldn't be found, much like Carmen Sandiego, they used the song from the show since they were similar.
"One who gives up a little bit of freedom for some peace, deserves neither."-Benjamin Franklin. So you would rather us have no rights just so that we are safe, which we never really are.
I used to play "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" Am I the only one here who did? Seriously... I actually remembered Carmen Sandiego more readily than Edward Snowden, even though he's far more recent and topical...
the NSA reveal had nothing to do with grabbing random files from your computer. it was about monitoring phone calls and email transactions. also, many of the phone and email companies have these things in fine print that we dont bother looking at. we often sign away our rights without the knowledge of doing so
That's not even what I'm talking about. I'm talking about safety. My liberty is my own, and I can do what I wish to spend my freedom for. Being a mother of three, all I care about is safety for my family. Asking for something so much for a right that I'm natural given is plentiful.
The only reason there is a question of whether what he did was right is because there are people in power who didn't want it to happen, and are in the position to manipulate media and make him a villain.
I can't believe so many people in the comments never saw the PBS gameshow "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego". There was even a cartoon of it on FOX KIDS.
Agree with Alexander. There is a lot of information that civilians have no reason for knowing. It's just to protect people. Then there are some things we would like to know. But...the way I see it, the rule of thumb here is: If you're in public, let em watch you, but when you're in private the government shouldn't listen. If they listen to conversations through speakers on public properties, there's little we can say.
Actually the real quote is "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety" also the quote probably wasn't Ben Franklen's it was just in a book of his. Here's another quote for you "A true scholar quotes a piece work to show he is literate, not to show his enlightenment" -Unknown
by his own admission he has more information with him and mentioned it in a mildly threatening context. They see him as a threat. Also they have no other option without seeming passive, him getting away looks bad for them.

you know how powerful the internet is, if we tried to find him like how we tried to find other people Edward would have no chance but i think alot of people on the internet dont think hes a traitor so that's why he isnt caught yet, at least thats my theory on why hes not caught yet
I started watching 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?' on TH-cam because of this video. I wouldn't mind playing Where in the World is Edward Snowden? on CD-ROM.
LOL. Back when he was in China and everyone was trying to figure out where he was "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" came to my mind. Why am I not surprised someone done made a parody comparing the two... :D
There is a limit on how far protection can go, the US government does not hove the right to listen to phone calls, or read private email. People have the right to say/think whatever they want without having to worry about the gummit*
Everything in the world revolves around whose the best, and whose the worst. That's how life goes on, how everything works. To say it doesn't matter in any situation is idealistic and unrealistic.
Or, you're working for the government. George Washington and many other founding fathers said to always ask questions, to make the government fear you, and to revolt against those who dare take your freedoms away. Snowden is a hero, and should go down in history as such!
the worst thing about this case is how the media is capable of changing the opinion of people so easly to oppress the victim and glorify the corrupted people.
I don't like getting spied on but when it comes to news you usually only hear about the bad. Any government project you'll hear about the 1 failure but never the 100 successes.
From the NSA of course. I am sure that the NSA would never lie to us about the program they lied to us about in the first place. I heard they stopped Galactus with the prism program, so really the NSA saved the whole world.
"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin You've been tricked into thinking giving up your freedoms makes you or your kids safer. What kind of world are your kids going to live in? Will they have a right to privacy? Will they have a right to their own possessions? Cause the NSA has taken those very rights away, in spite of the Constitution and our Justice System.
These kids wouldn't even know where this song originated from. I was 5 years old when This show came out on PBS 4:30 Pm Monday to Friday.Hearing this tune really lends nostalgia to me.
As far as gun laws go, we're pretty much in the middle, some places have far more strict gun laws than we do, and some places have no where near as much as we do. Homosexual tolerance is the same, some countries have far more tolerance than we do, and some don't have anywhere close to the tolerance we do.
Do a search one "Beijing-controlled Hong Kong topped Canada in a human-freedom ranking. How is that possible?" " Democracy is a power relationship while freedom means lack of constraints, Mr. Mahon said. “Iran in many ways has a democracy, but it would be silly to say that people in Iran, because they can vote are freer than people in Hong Kong,” he said.“This is not to say that democracy is not a good thing … that is certainly a good thing, but democracy on its own is not freedom.”
It's a bit esoteric, but I think that on paper, it seemed like a decent bit. They picked a reference that people in their mid-20's would get, and compared it to a current event topic. It just depends on how clever you think they are versus how much they're trying to be
I don't know. I thought it was pretty clever. I don't know if you ever watched Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego, but it was a good parody of the theme song, and it's a fitting theme for Edward Snowden.
I don't find it weird that people from other countries got a bit angry at USA for saying that "it's okay, we only spied on other countries, not you Americans."
I would maybe support snowden if all he did was release some data on the NSA spying on us, but he did way more damage than that, and through that damage people in sensitive areas could possibly die.
Hey! We Americans have also failed at building an adequate public education system, investing in sustainable technology, updating important infrastructure, and we have completely failed at giving future generations any future hope of ever fixing anything. If there's one thing America does it best, it's doing nothing important. When we fail, we put our blood, sweat, hearts and money into it!
I will just quote some bits of the French revolution and the Rights of Man. 1.Men are born and remain free and equal in rights. Social distinctions may be founded only upon the general good. 2.The aim of all political association is the preservation of the natural and imprescriptible rights of man. These rights are liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression. And these act by the NSA are the slow build towards oppression. But hiding behind your cloak of education wont change it
Its catchy, this was based of the the game show Where in the world is Carmen Sandiago? And guys, stop complaining about this, this is actually a nice song. So stop hating on college humor, for one they are getting better and better. So if you hate it see if you can do better, or go to machima even though there best shows are on hiatus. So keep your negative comments to your self.
I hope someday youll learn to differentiate between good and evil, between whats right and whats wrong, between revealing a crime and comitting it. Apparently nobody knows who Edward Snowden or Carmen Sandiego is.
They are both hanging with waldo .. I stumbled upon this among a carmen sandiego search
I found Carmen a few times.

how so? do explain!
Willem Cohen Snowden revealed the government's unconstitutional surveillance of America's citizens
Smith Smithinson
Yeah, I know he did that...
If he was a real hero though, he would have stayed behind to face the government, if he truly believed that the American public would hate the idea that the government uses their information, wouldn't it be fair to assume that they would come and rally behind him if he was imprisoned?

Willem Cohen no
I bet Carmen sings this everytime she goes to an open mic karaoke night!
High-five for making a video no one under the age of 20 will get the reference to.
yeah really.....shit. ROFL!
This video was VERY clever and well-executed. Why did everyone dislike it?
seen this before someone gave me the link to come back and see it. Just proves Rockapella rules still!!!! So does Carmen Sandiego
Lucinda Sanchez This isn't Rockapella, it's a group called Blue Jupiter.
I know it isn't rockapella lol what I am saying is, everyone making fun of them just shows how good they are
Lucinda Sanchez ...They're not making fun of Rockapella, they're making fun of Edward Snowden. Since he was running around the world and couldn't be found, much like Carmen Sandiego, they used the song from the show since they were similar.
They are making fun of BOTH Rockapella and Snowden!!!
Lucinda Sanchez How are they making fun of Rockapella?
Where in the world is Mr. Edward Snowden.
Only 200 000 views?! This video is awesome!
I used to love playing Carmen Sandiego on the computers in elementary school in the 1990s.
His glasses are normal, you damn hipster kids!
MY GOD COLLEGE HUMOR FREAKING READS MY MIND!! I WAS JUST LISTENING TO WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SANDIEGO
and you know it's an old channel when it parodies a song for the second time...
Yeah. Totally. Being called a nerd and insulting his appearance, and then asking if he's a traitor or a hero. So neutral!
Didnt he have a job in Hawaii?

Summer is the best if your in school. Winter is awesome because you get to wear all those cool hoodies and coats you bought
By the sounds of it you still have a good ten years of your childhood left, enjoy it.
I used to play "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" Am I the only one here who did? Seriously... I actually remembered Carmen Sandiego more readily than Edward Snowden, even though he's far more recent and topical...
He isn't he's just a lonely little hacker who is seen as some sort of vigilante.
the NSA reveal had nothing to do with grabbing random files from your computer. it was about monitoring phone calls and email transactions. also, many of the phone and email companies have these things in fine print that we dont bother looking at. we often sign away our rights without the knowledge of doing so
If you watched the gameshow 'where in the world is Carmen Sandiego' back in the day you would get this video
he has been nominated for the Nobel peace price.
Little do people know, Snowden is actually hiding in a Cafe on the peak of Snowdon.
That's not even what I'm talking about. I'm talking about safety. My liberty is my own, and I can do what I wish to spend my freedom for. Being a mother of three, all I care about is safety for my family. Asking for something so much for a right that I'm natural given is plentiful.

Apparently 718 people have never heard of Carmen Sandiego. I weep for humanity.
Well I guess you can't expect every college humor video to be funny
I can't believe so many people in the comments never saw the PBS gameshow "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego". There was even a cartoon of it on FOX KIDS.
If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear
He is a brave man, Edward Snowden. Stands up for what he thinks is right.
He's not a criminal he's a hero

them being who? I'm not a them, I'm a single person and how do you know what can or can't be explained to me?
It's crazy how many people know nothing about this case
It's actually a parody of the PBS shows based on Carmen Sandiego that ran from 1991 until 1997. There is a Carmen Sandiego game on Facebook today.
Or because you're dissing him? They guy deserves a medal but instead gets hunted like public enemy number 1.
you know how powerful the internet is, if we tried to find him like how we tried to find other people Edward would have no chance but i think alot of people on the internet dont think hes a traitor so that's why he isnt caught yet, at least thats my theory on why hes not caught yet

That seems the most plausible, unfortunately. Those poor saps. They never stood a chance. *sobs madly*
Where's Edward Snowden? Is he sleeping outside?
Where's Edward Snowden? Has he gone for a ride?
LOL. Back when he was in China and everyone was trying to figure out where he was "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" came to my mind. Why am I not surprised someone done made a parody comparing the two... :D

Edward Snowden is in Switzerland with the Von Trap family singers
The most he did was reveal the inner workings of program known by the public since 2006.
I thank you for you're praise.
Or, you're working for the government. George Washington and many other founding fathers said to always ask questions, to make the government fear you, and to revolt against those who dare take your freedoms away. Snowden is a hero, and should go down in history as such!
just because you don't get the joke doesn't mean you need to be rude
He forfeited a well payed job to tell the public something it has known for seven years already.

He forfeited an incredibly well-payed job to reveal a massive human rights infringement. That's pretty boss.
And stand up for what he believed in. If you're going to do what he did might as well show you truly believe in it.
They want the satisfaction of catching a "traitor"
oh, and he has classified info as well

"But if Dick Cheney hates then you probably did something right." XD
This is fuckin' priceless! Godspeed to ya, Snowden! :)

Was laughing so hard that I had to pause it so that I wouldn't miss anything! Epic!
I'm surprised this doesn't have more views. Aside from the batman videos this is one of the most well done videos collegehumor has done recently.
