    Discover It card deserves a mention. No annual fee, no foreign transaction fee (although Discover isn't really a foreign entity yet, not even in the UK), and they have a different 5% back feature per quarter year (Jan-Mar = all grocery stores), plus 1% back on all other purchases. AND, they match your cash back after the first year, so every free dollar you got from using it, they give you that same amount again. Plus, 100% US-based customer service and a great app.

    For anybody looking for the math on whether the Alliant card is worth it for the annual fee the calculation is pretty simple.
    If you spend $19,000 or more on the card; the additional 0.5% will earn you more than the cost of the annual fee.
    If you plan on spending less than $19,000 per year on the card; stick with the Citi Double Cash.

    • @MarkReese
      @MarkReese 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That Costco card has GREAT earning categories. However, the downside is that you can only redeem your cash back 1x per year, starting in February. It's also issued in the form of a certificate that you have to use inside Costco (if you desire cash, you can take it into a warehouse and they'll cash it out). So the fact that they hold your cash for an entire year before you can get it, and then make it inconvenient to get, was a turnoff for me. Definitely a bummer...because otherwise it's great!

  • @JSHIHOME

    Great job on doing all the research, thank you! However, I have something to say about the citi Costco anywhere Visa card, its a yearly rewards card, which means you can only get ur rewards every February for the previous year. On 2018 I generated $1900 in cash back rewards , but on Dec.2018 citi closed my account , and to their terms , I lost all these rewards.
