no -rice and beans do not cost $80 in the U.S as Dee stated - in fact one pound of bag of red kidney beans costs $1.92 and one 16 ounce bag of white rice costs $0.99 at Walmart ( supermarket )

Beans in Toronto in the market is about $1.49 a lb. 1 can of red beans or any can of beans costs about $1.49 Cdn, it is even cheaper when on sale. It is not expensive. It is also cheap in the States. No disrespect to your culture, but with all that land, why aren't you eating vegetables or salads with your meals? It seems to be an incomplete meal to me. That is considered a poor meal. I don't know what Dee is boasting about. I will never put that on my table without vegetables or a salad and chicken or fish, etc.
