    Thank you Darren and little queen. I look forward to all your posts. You were very influential for me starting my rose garden across the pond here in the USA. I love how you said not sharing would be selfish. I appreciate you so much!!

    I love "wandering" around your garden with you Darren. I have some of the same roses as you but mine don't look half as good. I need to master the art of pruning. x

    The ceanothus looks amazing and exotic! I like shrubs with big clusters of flowers, there is another one of those sorts of shrubs I saw called a lagerstroemia which I was tempted by at the garden centre a few years ago!
    I love the scabiosa along the runway, I have Scabiosa Butterfly Blue which is a bluish purple colour and next to it a similar flowered plant called a jasione.

    I’m here again for another update of your lovely garden. It’s fun to see the changes in your plants over time. I look forward to watching your garden grow! I love watching my garden grow a little each day, that is my favorite part of gardening. It’s so fun to have the growth documented over the season to look back at and see progress. I love that about making garden videos. Let’s learn & grow more together!

    The entire garden is a delight to see. I'm so jealous of how far along your plants are... I'm in northeast Pennsylvania at a fairly high elevation. Just had my first roses open in the last 2 weeks. Victorian memory and Blanc Double de Coubert. My Austin roses won't open for another week or so. I do very much like seeing your Japanese maples here and there. Here here... a toast to HRH "Long live the Queen!"!

My Munstead Wood is a heart breaker with her gorgeous blooms, but her thorns are deadly. Looking forward to seeing your garden soon x

    Hi Darren the garden is looking great. Two questions please answer. First I think you have rosa Lady Emma Hamilton what is your review? Second I notice you grow lilies in the ground. Do you get Lily beetle and their larvae?

  • @Petalsandstamens

    Also Darren, I see that your roses aren't planted by colour as you have a beautiful kaleidoscope of colours grouped together. Was there any pattern to your planting eg size perhaps?

    Hello dear Darren, after seeing your Wollerton Old Hall (WOH) climber I bought 2 for my climber :) However I have heard that the WOH climber takes a very long time to establish and grow. Did you find that was the case with yours?
    Love the tour of your garden. Besides tackling influenza, it's winter here in Sydney Australia, I have been really busy building flower beds, garden edges, shovelling many many wheelbarrows of dirt in real anticipation of my bare root roses. Lots of love and light xoxo

    • @celinahatton2653
      @celinahatton2653 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have two WoH that have been in the ground less than six months, and the one that gets slightly more sun is almost 5 feet tall. Both have flowered constantly since I planted them, and are still flowering despite having several nights down to -4°c. My favourite rose in my garden at the moment.

    • @Petalsandstamens
      @Petalsandstamens 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@celinahatton2653 Awesome thanks Celina. Its winter here and I was watching the sun shine on the flower beds trying to identify the prime locations for my little babies but soon realised the direction of the sun will be slightly different in summer. How different I dont know, but going by what I saw this weekend the WOH's may not get alot of sun all over. I will be taking that chance though.

    • @celinahatton2653
      @celinahatton2653 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Petalsandstamens something that may also possibly be worth noting is that as I'm at a higher altitude than you in NSW (I'm up on the Northern Tablelands from Sydney) our UV is much stronger than closer to sea level, and I'm not sure how much positive impact this would have on our roses despite the colder temperatures we have up here.

    • @celinahatton2653
      @celinahatton2653 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Petalsandstamens just an update for you on the WoH, they are still setting buds even though our warmest overnight temp is now 0°c. The flowers are also coming through being iced over in the morning. Suggests to me that this may be a rose that thrives in cooler temperatures. I look forward to hearing about how you go in Sydney with the heat and humidity.

      You get lovely rose hips if you don’t deadhead ramblers :) It’s your choice. I love to see rose hips x
