Two things: first, does anyone know how the series got so many musicians as guest stars? Also the rights to the original Queen soundtrack... Did the showrunners have contacts with the music industry? Black Morel is one of the most delicious teas in existence, and the first memory of Darius was using a mold to break a guy's infection. Ancient Soma was prepared with mushrooms, so it was said. Beers and ales are made with yeast. Good preparation for that character.
The actor Werner Stocker who played Darius died during the making of this episode, so the writers and producers had to rewrite the scrip. he was 36 when he died suddenly from brain tumor.

Does someone speak Italian here? 25:21 "?Voi che? parli italiano? Italiano? No? By the way, he had a minor role in the movie Last Rites in the late 80's, I think he only spoke Italian in that movie.
@Ghajini 3000 The scene I mentioned was meant to demonstrate this fact about the character. Similarly, the actor who played the character also speaks and understands multiple languages.

Apparently this episode picks up right after the Hunters episode where Horton and his gang were apparently testing Tessa and Fitz to check whether they were immortal. Yet in this episode Horton, as the head of the watchers (“your dad is the boss”) has a complete database of every immortal and so wouldn’t really need to test Fitz or Tessa (his file on McLeod would mention her).
Can't believe they've been up for 10 years, and I started watching them about 1 month ago, then boom! they're gone. Probably my bad luck at fault, sorry! 😅

A lot of interesting discussion in the comment section was also lost forever, pity.
This episode is where the series changes. The character arcs and recurring story lines just got better and better. Seasons 4 and 5 are my favorites. Love Joe Dawson and Methos, who should have ended up with their own show after this series ended.
"Death is part of my life" Interesting thing to say for an immortal but it totally makes sense. On the one hand he (almost) can't die, but that leads him to see more death than mortals.
I wonder if the Watchers were always meant to be introduced into the story, or if they were created to give reason for the death of Darius? There is a rather sad, ironic reality check that the character of an immortal had to be written out by the death of the actor playing the character.I am glad they did not simply try replacing the actor, and continue on with the character of Darius. A good tribute to the career of Werner Stocker.
In behinds the scenes stuff on the DVDs one of the producers or writers said the watchers were always intended to be a thing but they adapted them to the Darius storyline because Werner Stocker died, they were supposed to kill Fitz in this episode. Methos was then created as a Darius stand in to give Duncan information about the watchers. Roger Daltrey was supposed to be a big star who would come on be hyped as a guest star and be killed off.

Actually, the plan was always to kill Darius in this episode. However, they did have to rewrite it last minute because of his brain tumor, as he was too sick to film. He also was planned to show up in more flashbacks throughout the series, but the actor did end up passing away five days after this episode aired, so rather than recasting, they kept Darius to verbal nods only.

This makes me wonder ... if an Immortal loses his/her head and there's no other Immortal around to take his/her quickening, it may be that that quickening ends up being transplanted into another individual right as he/she's being born. It would help to explain the otherwise stupid concept of new Immortals coming into existence during the Gathering.
While this is an interesting hypothesis, new immortals don't spontaneously come into existence during the Gathering. Curious how you reached that conclusion.
@@Zeithri I think it is meant that people like Ritchie, the pianist in "Timeless", and the wild child daughter of Mac's friends that has her first death in a car crash becoming immortal.
I think the gathering is a cyclical event. Which explains why there are new immortals popping up. It’s to replenish the ranks lost in the gathering. I notice most immortals are 1000 years old or younger in the series and movies ( with a few exceptions like methos and the witch lady that was his sex slave) yet rodrigo tells Conner the game has been around since the dawn of man.
Loved that melondy towards the end when the boat was moving .. when that man in the car watching duncan's house in the car and gotton jumped by richie and duncan ,,,, what's that song ,, ??
@bigedf I know it's "Quickening", it was a mistake, sorry)) And I know that they die for a short time and then just revive. That wasn't in question. The question was, what happens to the bullet wounds? If an Immortal is shot to death, he dies, but then revives - what happens to the bullets that were stuck inside his body? IMHO - they just desintigrate. Quickening shuld provide a complete healing.

Yet in this episode Horton, as the head of the watchers (“your dad is the boss”) has a complete database of every immortal and so wouldn’t really need to test Fitz or Tessa (his file on McLeod would mention her).

I remember
DUNCAN'S YELL
from the 1st time I saw this
What's happened to all the later episodes? They were here a month ago
Can't believe they've been up for 10 years, and I started watching them about 1 month ago, then boom! they're gone. Probably my bad luck at fault, sorry! 😅
Sad Episode! RIP Werner Stocker ! Adrian Paul, and Stan Kirsch RIP are great actors!
Since when have all of the episodes past season 1 been private?
fitz is so funny laughs and says "yes kind" "and brave"
Nothing chills Duncan's anger more quickly than a women getting hurt. Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine comes to mind.
Cinedigm maybe no longer has the rights for all the episodes so they are not here anymore, that or maybe they have them in their own streaming service whatever the case I want kick myself in the ass for not finish watching the series long time ago even though for years I have known that (mostly) all the series was here for free, I just kept postponing it. A lot of interesting discussion in the comment section was also lost forever, pity.
Yeah it really sucks that the episodes and esoecially the comments were lost
This episode is where the series changes. The character arcs and recurring story lines just got better and better. Seasons 4 and 5 are my favorites. Love Joe Dawson and Methos, who should have ended up with their own show after this series ended.
I have been there!!!!! at Versaille, but it was nice and quiet in 2002
Love the fitz episodes. David Bowie made an awesome vampire too!
The strewn chairs from the lost quickening is a nice touch
man, whenever duncan and tessa were going at it, people drop by. First Connor, now Fitz.
I just love this show and that's one of the reasons!
So Richie might’ve
been young and kinda
foolish but he was
definitely also brave!
And for a new immortal, very skilled.
It is not the ones after his head that make life hard for Duncan, it is his friends.
Daltry is a surprisingly good actor.
Why are a lot of your episodes under private video now? I'm subscribed to your channel and told others.
I do love that fighting scene and YAY Ritchie
I just thought - Roger Daltrey has hardly aged in forever - maybe he's an Immortal! 😊 No? Oh well. I can dream. *sigh*
Lydia Who? Oh he's gorgeous! I've met him twice... so lucky!
Oh he really is worth it! Such a kind, lovely, warm guy.
Lydia Who? Oh I don't blame you for that! It's nice that everybody has said the same thing. Just shows you. I think he's one of those 'What you see is what you get' kind of guys. I'm sure he must have 'off days', but then he is only human. He's a bit less tactile than he was before, because he was so ill last year, but he's still very friendly. I really hope that you do get to meet him.
It's thanks to Highlander that I became a fan of The Who.
He dies in the show.
I hadn't known the actor died. RIP
what happened to the other episodes? please bring it back..
Dont touch me
I love this series, it was awesome!
@Cinedigm - Bro, why'd you make ALL of seasons 2-6 "private"?🤷 What's goin' on Dude?🤔 I already have the Best Buy Exclusive DVD sets of seasons 2-6, so I can watch the entirety of The Series whenever I damn-well please, but I'm just curious, as now I don't have an easy go-to link to share it with others on Facebook when they ask "Where can I watch it for free?"
Hey where are the other episodes?
@minneyarthorn No I didn't know that, it explains a lot thanks. Very sad to hear too, he was a great actor taken in the prime of life :(
Can you unlock the rest of the series? It’s showing them as private
The series is available on DVD get it and you'll never have to worry
@@ff3player It's 2023. Who watches DVDs these days? 😂
@@glenna.jaspart1391 Well it's best to have some DVD/Blu-rays just in case if there is a network outage like the Canada wide Rogers shutdown last year.
Fitz is one of the best characters in the series.
Why they always gotta mess with my hommie Darius. He just wana be left the hell alone.
pretty funny how you can all of a sudden wield/produce a 4 foot sword out of a waist length jacket, as in many episodes, hell, even concealed carry of a firearm is somewhat noticeable these days, you know who has a gun, if your looking for it
Try getting a sword on a plane after 9-11
Tessa the character has a great deepness in her eyes, truely a great actress represented the role
About 27 min in Ritchie rolls in like a super hero!
If that was mead they drank in the beginning, then I'm the king of the Outer Hebrides.
The actor who played darius died of a brain tumor, so they had to kill the character!
Woah never knew that, just looked it up. Wow this reply is 8 years too late. :)
Wow how sad
@@SubZtx it's the quarantine. What can we say?
Originally Fitz was going to die. They did kill him later
6:40 We're going to see flashbacks of this scene soo many times.
+Philippe Carphin What did you expect?!
+borgduck I was on my second, possibly third viewing of the series. I remember seeing it so many times...
*knocks over chairs* "DARIIIIIIUUSSSSSSSS"
Duncan is sad, starts thinking about the past, cut to
*knocks over chairs* "DARIIIIIIIUUSSSSSSsS".
What kept you? Reference to the movie Highlander.
Tribute episode to Werner Stocker aka Darius nice one!!
Argh! I got so pissed off!! If they were gong to kill him, they should've let another immortal take the quickening! So much knowledge lost forever!!
well the Hunter's whole goal was to kill off all the Immortals so it wouldn't make sense if they did that. Also no Immortal would have killed Darius.
Alec Bet well problem was the actor who played him died thats why the footage of him looked like it was taken from previous episodes cause well it was
Werner was still alive. He was just too ill to film.
oh Im sure plenty of immortals would have wanted to kill him. Just not on holy ground.
Loved that melondy towards the end when the boat was moving .. when that man in the car watching duncan's house in the car and gotton jumped by richie and duncan ,,,, what's that song ,, ??
AND this show had The best music from ANY era
@bigedf I know it's "Quickening", it was a mistake, sorry)) And I know that they die for a short time and then just revive. That wasn't in question. The question was, what happens to the bullet wounds? If an Immortal is shot to death, he dies, but then revives - what happens to the bullets that were stuck inside his body? IMHO - they just desintigrate. Quickening shuld provide a complete healing.
I'm going to miss Darius on the show.
27:04 Did Duncan wipe away his injury???
😂😂😂 the magical mirage strand of hair
fritz looks like the front man for The Who
roofman2002 that's because it is his name is Roger Daltrey
That's cos he is! Fitz, that is...
Why can 't i see the next video? Wat means privé? Why?
Ah a great series shame what they did to the films after the first one though
This was such a heartbreaking episode.
