I grew up in Syracuse and attended SU. That was back in the early 80s. Not a thing has changed except that: 1) Syracuse has become an even more violent place. 2) Between decades of having liberal Democrat/Socialist city, county and state "leaders", taxes going up, regulation going from bad to out of control...every person and business that was smart has left the state. That leaves poor people, illegal aliens and a handful of businesses who get subsidies. Think SU, hospitals and now Micron. 3) Economic development is next to non-existent. That's because socialists don't like business and also because they have absolutely NO idea on how to attract and cultivate it. They are not interested in income generation; they are strictly interested in tax revenue generation and don't see the connection. I left in 1985 for another state and would NEVER consider moving back. I just like to come on here and see just how bad it gets every day for you guys. And, of course, to share my valuable opinion. Keep voting Democrat and keep getting hammered. Some people just never learn.

Syracuse is in economic despair. We don't call it shit hole Syracuse for nothing. One doesn't have to drive far to see it for yourself.
