yeah they did a really good job! The only one that doesn't quite match is Claudia because the actress looks only half Asian here but in the books she's clearly full Japanese. But everyone else is like 100% perfect. I'm a little disappointed that in the new Netflix series they made Mary Anne black and Dawn a Mexican, but I also understand it -- it's not the 1980s anymore and representation is important. Also the "real California girl" of 2020 isn't a blue eyed blonde. she really is a Mexican, so it's more accurate anyway.

The Disney Channel in the early 90s! That's where I watched this every Sunday when it was on! I still have the Babysitters Remember VHS:) I still love how they cast this, everyone is so on point with the books even when I read them now, and Mary Anne reminds me so much of Mare Winningham it's unbelievable! I so wish I could go to the video store in this one!

I still have the VHS of The Baby-Sitters Remember and NEVER missed the show when it was on The Disney Channel! Still have my trusty pile of favorite paperback entries to go with it:) Thankfully TH-cam has all of the episodes for me to bookmark! I have the movie on tape too and even though I like it enough for what it is you're totally right, only the girls on the show really capture their characters! It's the PLOT of the movie that gets me, though, like WHO came up with that?! It feels like a FAN fiction, almost! I would've figured out how to combine the most fun and adventurous Super Mystery and Super Special and made the movie in 1991 so it would go right off the show!

I know. I would watch it everyday! I dont care for the remakes at all. When i think of The BabySitters Club I think of these girls! Some of them are not far from my age! I'm 47 and I think their all in their early 40's now! Time flies!
OMG, does Kristy EVER just shut up LOL?!!! I know her bark was always a lot worse than her actual bite, but she was one tough little cookie if you ask me. Kristy was always just really overbearing & pushy. She, also, just loved letting her imagination run wild with her much of the time which often got her into trouble. I must say, her voice in this TV series was sooooooo annoying too LOL!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Other than the tokenistic racebending, the 2020 reboot is so much more authentically cast and the acting light years more plausible than this. These girls are not 11 and 13 by any stretch of the imagination and they're reciting their lines like poems. I think Kristy and Claudia are by far the biggest improvements here.
