Imo the leap from q2/q3/ql to QC is one of the biggest jumps with individual champion abilities, movement, base stats and cool downs. My point about Dahang was just factual; many players simply lose interest in the next Quake or just move on from gaming -- or other routes. Purri who was god-like in q2, excelled in q4, then had some minor success in ql before moving on. Dahang is an interesting study in Quake (as is Tox): He was god-like in q2, really solid in q4, uber pro in ql, then pro QC for a few years (retired now over two yrs). That dude has probably invested more time in the Quake brand than just about anybody, except possibly Tox.
@@gordlawson11 Sorry to bust that one, but QCon 2014 was QuakeLIVE, not vq3. Huge difference. And it's painful for me, because no matter how much I love Rockets from Belarus, I always think about his other QCon Finals loss in 2012 (again Quakelive), when he was up two matches in a BO5 then lost the next three to Cypher. Dahang really deserved at least one QCon title for as much success he had in all Quakes. But Cypher never stops being Cypher 🫣
i still wonder if it was smart, or if he made a mistake by going autopilot after getting 200-100 and not having railgun, then realising it was stupid and got out real fast.

Just seeing this...better late than never. Dahang wasn't a q3 player. Played pro q4 for bd, pro q2 (quakecon quad dmg), pro ql&qc (obviously).
