I love the graphics and fonts that you used in this video. Your voice-over is great. I wish that you had 1001 videos instead of just one. I hope I can find more videos that are as good as yours.
This was a very informative crash course on database fundamentals. It serves as a fantastic reviewing video as well, and the visuals enhanced the video to the quality it is at. Thank you very much, and great job.
After watching about 20 other database videos, this one finally made sense...thank you. I'm in Business Management Tools class and we are on database and this helped out a lot.
this is one of the best videos I have every seen for educational purposes, sooo clear and not boring haha. I wish you had more on databases and theory of computation!!
excellent tutorial prof. Nice clear info, clear examples, clear visual aids and audible, concise language. quick delivery but not over the heads of those of us that are not brain dead. well done :)
i really loved this video, so simple to understand, it makes sense, i wish i could get more videos lke this, plz someone help me m studying database, if anyone haave such nice and easy videoss to share , it will be a great help...... thanx to the uploader, plz share some more videos lil bit more advanced i mean next step....
Thanks for the response. RE: Database - I meant the latter in your response -- the actual tables, views, etc. I don't have a visual representation for the schema, other than it looks like an organization chart, like I do for the instance and database, I can see them and their relationship. Using the Russian Doll analogy .... tables, views, etc., inside a schema, a schema inside of a database and a database inside an instance?
Please Mister, Would it be possible for you to post a video with more Database explanation??? I found your material very didactic and it falls into a very easy understanding....
Thank you very much for this very helpful video. Straight to the point, Very good presentation. Would be excellent if you did more videos on Database Terminology, such as Database structures, Database schema, logical and physical views,
Great video but question: why wouldn't you create another table for car make and models with a primary key and then have a third table, 'people and cars', that just had the two foreign keys; ownerID and carID? This way you don't duplicate car data because more than one person could own the same car.
+Data Newt Yes, every table should have a PK. However, it doesn't need to be explicitly listed. A PK is simply a set of attributes that can be used to uniquely identify each record. In this example, the PK could be the set of all attributes.
That's a many-to-many relationship: each person can own more than one car and each car can be owned by more than one person. To implement that, you'll need what's called a "resolution table": a third table that resolves the one many-to-many into a couple of one-to-many relationships.
Yes, an array is a kind of table. The primary difference is an array has an index (usually a sequential ID number) and single associated value. A table can have an index that could be non-numeric and it can have several values, such as make/model/year.
this was a cool video, but yoyr sound editing os really off. somehow you have your volume turned down to 50 or 75%. this makes your video really difficult to watch on a smart phone.
the greatest database tutorial i ever saw!
Thanks!

Perhaps the most clear and concise explanation I have found on TH-cam for the given content. Great job.

Best videos.
Real good man.
thank you a lot for such simple explanation.
Very clear, very helpful. Is the distinction between "identifying" and "non-identifying" relationships covered in a later video?
At last! a good tutorial on db basics...
Loved it! Think my students may enjoy it also!
Thank's for the video.
What's the difference between a database and a schema?
Well done. Thank you.

Great video but question: why wouldn't you create another table for car make and models with a primary key and then have a third table, 'people and cars', that just had the two foreign keys; ownerID and carID? so simple and to the point, superb man and thanks for this :)
thank you 4 the effort
this one killed my doubts on databases :)
This video is extremely helpful, thanks!!
Thank you for this
more tutorials! please, Your a great teacher.
Dude that was perfect
Excellent.
Great video.
How then would you create a primary key for the car table or can the table existe without a primary key? (Great vid. BTW)
its very nice sir........
Tod owns some nice cars.
Sir, please continue subject database
super helpful thank you
am I able to copy some of your presentation slides like samples of the databases?
you are a life-saver! :) x
is there meant to be sound for this video or just images?
Thanks you so much for this!!
Thank you dude....:-)
You're great dude...
Thank you so much for this! :)
My teacher does not teach shit. Thank you for this tutorial.
very nice (y)
Why doesn't the cars table have a primary key? Shouldn't every table have a primary key? Is a foreign key sufficient?
+Data Newt Yes, every table should have a PK. However, it doesn't need to be explicitly listed. A PK is simply a set of attributes that can be used to uniquely identify each record. In this example, the PK could be the set of all attributes.
there should be a unique identifier for the car table no? how about a VIN number?
Great video! :D
What if Bob also owns a 2005 Toyota Prius (which is similar to what Alice owns)?
That's not a problem in these tables. Since the ownerID is different, the two records in the Cars table would be distinguishable.
What happens if more than one person owns the same car? how do we show that on the table
That's a many-to-many relationship: each person can own more than one car and each car can be owned by more than one person. To implement that, you'll need what's called a "resolution table": a third table that resolves the one many-to-many into a couple of one-to-many relationships.
Thank you
that's true but I don't think (in real life) that any state or province would allow a car to be owned by more than one entity.
the sound is little bit low :(
What happens when there is two people that own the same car?
why not just put all the cars into an array instead of another table ?
isnt an array a kind of table?
Yes, an array is a kind of table. The primary difference is an array has an index (usually a sequential ID number) and single associated value. A table can have an index that could be non-numeric and it can have several values, such as make/model/year.
this was a cool video, but yoyr sound editing os really off. somehow you have your volume turned down to 50 or 75%. this makes your video really difficult to watch on a smart phone.
Sorry. This was one of the first videos I ever made. I have better equipment and techniques now. :)
Barry Brown your welcome sir!!👍👍✔✔☺
What if Bob doesn't look 19?
Dude that was perfect
