i had the exact same trouble when i first used mine i had to pull the bivvy up so it wasnt so tight then fan it out and then put the peak poles in now ive used it alot takes about 2 minutes to erect and peg out
another great video tommy and the pegging points on the front of the groundsheet match the ones on the door and you do have plenty of room to get in and out without stubbing your toes on the pegs i look forward to the next one 👍👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣 tight lines and wet nets
Nice video Tommy and nice bivvy. I have much the same thing made by somebody else in the Quest defier mk3 and they are a pain in the arse to fan out when new. Ive bent a pole a couple of times because i didnt pull as much of the fabric towards me as possible before fanning so watch out for that. Grabbing the over wrap is a a fair shout if you are thinking about it, once its on with the inner door off the inside of the bivvy is massive, plenty room for a longer session. I don't really like those bed back rests and can can get a chair next to my bed no bother using the overwrap. All the best.
Thanks mate. I was going to get the defier but its a bit more pricey than the Sonik one. I better watch out for that then I'm quite heavy handed lol. Been looking for a spare spreader block just in case. I'll deffo get an overwrap eventually mate just going to wait for them to be in the sale hopefully will be in Jan or Feb. I haven't ever tried one of those back rests to be fair, I usually take a chair if I do a 48 but for a 24 I just sit on my bedchair haha especially in the winter. Hope you're well mate Tight Lines thanks for commenting 😁🫡🎣👍
How come you decided to change it mate because of the extras available for the tempest? I'm looking forward to using this for a few seasons seems pretty good. Tight lines mate 😁🫡👍
@tommycarping I've always wanted the tempest mate but I choose axs for a long time because of the price difference that's all other wise I'd still have my axs now never had a issue with it survived some horrible weather and stayed solid 👍
@southwestcarpin hopefully mine will too mate. Got some good sessions booked in for 2024 so proper looking forward to using it. Much easier to put up than my advanta pram style bivvy
Mate the new one coming out has skull cap and a inner capsule all together when you buy the bivvy tempests are shit now wait till you have a problem and want to contact trakker the worse customer service but I'll be looking at the new sonik bivvy as you get everything and all bivvys on the market are all made in the same factory in china
When fanning it out pull the outer fabric up the poles a bit. Helps. Had mine since they came out. Love it. The only annoying thing is that they get quite a bit of vapor inside. Also mine has slightly faded due to using it in the sun
Nice video mate I’m thinking of changing from the tempest because the material looks thicker does it block out much of the light? Plus the bed chair goes right back and you can sit up straight I’m shorter than you so will have no issues there 😂
You dont get too much light in it mate but its nowhere near the uni spider I tried. If you want a blackout bivvy the solar uni spider is what you need 😁
The umbrella style bivvy is a con not needed unless your old bivvy is trashed , first it lands no more fish. Second as a design it doesn’t work without the storm poles , I’ll stick to my Chubb which goes up and down fast enough for me . And save the money of changing it for bait . I’ve had it up in 50mph gusts with just the addition of webbing straps and pegs to hold it in place . The manufacturers have convinced you you need to be able to save five minutes by spending hundreds .
Morning mate. I got this because my old one was wrecked all the poles had warped on the joints and the material wasn't really waterproof anymore. I agree it doesn't land any more fish but at the price of £219.99 which is around what I paid for it it's a bargain. I totally agree about the more expensive bivvies of this style costing closer to £1000 are way too much money for me, but this is as cheap if not cheaper than most of the Chubb bivvies. I've had this a few months now and love it.
@tommycarping they have some real good stuff coming out like bags with table tops on them but the new bivvies are a game changer all I want is a inner capsule like a proper tent so no bugs can get in and I don't have to buy anything separately
@@tommycarping me nether I have the sonik insurgent rods what a rod sold my 12fts they that good but pack down to 44inch like nash scopes I have their pod landing net but will be selling some of my other stuff to be getting the new sonik bags so I don't have to take a table no more beening looking it to the new gizmos but I just don't know lol
and ill tell you now if your getting the overwrap its tight and only comes with 4 extra pegs but does match the pegging points on the bivvy perfectly so i just used them......still watching as doing these comments lol
Thanks mate haha. Am really happy with it to be fair. I didnt realise there were pegging points in the groundsheet until after id put it up lol. I'm in two minds whether to get the wrap it was roasting in there last night and the wrap is quite expensive might wait until its on sale lol. Thanks for the comments mate and the support really appreciate it 👍 what bivvy have you got now?
I've still.got my axs bivvy mate I won't change it and if it rips or something breaks I'd just buy another one I've had mine 3 years now and it's still 100 % waterproof and I've not resealed it at all so I won't be changing like I said

Thanks bro appreciate it 🫡😁👍
Had this bivvy for a few years no issues decided to upgrade to the trakker tempest couldn't fault the axs only wish they made a skull cap for it

Thanks mate will do that from now on 😁👍🫡
What are you doing?
Making it a Turkish steam room?
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Pull the two straps near the storm poles to tension the peak properly👍
Will do mate. Worked that out after the video lol, didnt want to pull them too tight though in case the clip things broke 🫡👍😊

I know mate was just giving a comparison. Hope you're well. Tight Lines bud
I can't take you seriously with those Crocs on mate 😂😂
Mate don't knock em till you've tried them. Ultimate fishing shoes. I used to rinse people for wearing crocs now I love them
Try getting spares or a wrap for it, I was stung and all
Are they hard to get spares for then mate?
@@tommycarping they released a V2 green only bivvy at twice the price, can't get ribs (1 of mine broke in mild wind, weak af) or a wrap.
Bloody hell mate. Sorry to hear that. Have you contacted Sonik direct?
@@tommycarping yeah, they were useless
Hate to tell you this but they are bringing a new one out comes with skull cap and a inner capsule all in one package no buying nothing separately
Thats all good mate I will buy one of those in the Summer for my birthday, this one will be well used by then haha.

Nice mate. Gives me confidence in this one. Heard from a few people that they're really good. I use loads of Sonik Stuff.
@tommycarping yeah I use the bed, bivvy, bitealarms, extractor rods, and luggage, but there a great product at a decent price 👍
Totally agree mate going to have a look at their alarms and a 3 rod pod next year, only got a 2 rod at the min
Stop fighting that bivvy mate😂😂
First time putting it up mate it nearly went in the lake 😂😂😂 much simpler than my pram hood one though
