Thank you for providing such a detailed and well-sourced routine! I'm really glad that I found your channel. I am in the early stages of saving up for a trip to Dream Body Clinic to treat my lower back for a condition very similar to yours. I have lost some of the curve of my lower back, and I was wondering which traction device I should get to help bring that curve back. Thank you.
Thanks for this very useful video! I just had surgery one month ago for vertebrae dynamic stabilization and I had 180mln stem cell from my own BF. I’m recovering but still there’s a bit of pain especially when sitting, and numbness and weakness in my leg and foot. You do mention to avoid exercise that procure compression like squat deadlift and leg press right? What do you think about belt squats? Do you suggest a period of complete rest after stem cell? How long?
You're most welcome! I love belt squats - it's one of very few machines that I purchased for my home gym. A rest period (de-load) could be appropriate and extremely helpful after treatment - it depends on the condition of your spine, type & severity of the problem, and your personal activity/exercise history. The length of that would also depend on multiple factors - hard to give specific advice without a lot more information.
@@painfixprotocol Actually I’m two months after surgery and one month after stem cells. I’m now pain free VAS 0 or VAS 1 if sitting for long periods. I started doing light body weight squats and single leg extensions/curls, step up on stair and lateral walks with bands. I do love belt squats as well, I’ve got Matt Wenning model in my home gym. Think I will sell my 45 leg press and avoid deadlifts and barbell squats after this very challenging period. Will do everything smarter also considering your experience and suggestions. Thanks for continuing sharing your recovery journey!
I just now discovered your channel and I am so glad I did. I had lumbar spine triple laminectomy in 2006 and they want me to do more lumbar surgery and I'm putting it off. I have stenosis and degenerative discs. In addition I have no cartilage left in my right knee and they want me to do a knee replacement that I don't really want to do. Is there any way to salvage my knee now that the cartilage is gone, without replacing it? Also, you talked about type 2 undenatured collagen. Can I also take that with the type 1 and type three collagens that you mentioned? I'm going to look into Dream Body in Mexico and start saving. Thank you so much.
You're most welcome, Gary! Yes, you can absolutely take undenatured type II collagen along with types I & III. As for the knee, if the cartilage is completely gone, there aren't many options outside of replacement. If there's a little left, there may be some options using regenerative medicine.
I appreciate the video very much. I had 200 mil mesenchymal cells injected directly into my disc space 3 months ago and am hoping it changes my life. It hasn’t yet. Do you have any studies on the effects of doing it directly into the disc space? Thank you
You're most welcome, Mikey! 3 months is still pretty early. Here's a great paper that highly recommend reading: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8092931/
@@painfixprotocolThanks for that. Also I didn’t mention I had a fusion several years ago that was basically a total failure. I wonder if there’s any research on stem cells being done for fusion patients.
Great video. Your supplement Joint Rebuilder has Collagen I & III. You mention in your video you should also be taking Collagen II for the disks. Does Joint Rebuilder have Collagen II? Is there a supplement that has Collagen I, II & III? Thank you for your help.
Hi Dr. Whitten, I can perform a deep squat if I hold onto something like a pole or my kitchen counter. Would you recommend I do the modified version on my back if I cannot get into a deep squat without a prop? Thank you!
Hi Ryan, It's hard to say without lots more information. The typical progression is from non weight bearing, to partial weight bearing, to weight bearing with assistance to weight bearing unassisted. hope that helps!
This is helpful. I just had the neck stem cell treatment with DBC for disc bulging and osteophytes (bone spurs) on L5-L6, right below the C4-C5 fusion that came from an infection from oral surgery that caused the disc degeneration and infection there eating both disc and some bone. I have red light therapy and full body vibration machine. What specific rehab techniques should I do for my neck? Thank you!
As a rule of thumb, the most important thing a person can do to preserve the health and longevity of the spine is to restore and maintain proper structure (normal alignment) and function (movement). I have lots of information in my Neck Playlist that may be helpful for you - th-cam.com/play/PL1rO7vW04HUCvA6iO0eR-DHGdi7m5v9Ez.html
Hi! How soon after your stem cell injection did you start the red light therapy? I went to DBC close to a month ago and got a hip injection. They told me to avoid red light initially because of its anti inflammatory effects and they said I should not take any anti inflammatories for at least 2 weeks but ideally 4 weeks. So I’ve been avoiding using my red light device until I reach the 4 week mark. So I’m wondering how soon after your treatment you started with it?
I have a torn labrum, arthritis and tendonosis. The pain in my hip had been waking me up every night for months. Pretty much immediately after the treatment that went away. Another thing that had been difficult and painful was sitting and driving. Sitting at that right angle was painful and often while driving I would have to help my leg with my hand to move it from the gas to the brake. I couldn’t lift the leg on its own because of the heaviness and pain. I can now drive without doing this and it’s no longer painful. It’s not 100% yet. There are still some positions that cause the labrum to catch, but it’s less often. I still have trouble with walking because of the tendonosis and there is still restricted range of motion. But it’s only been 4 weeks. Overall I would absolutely recommend the treatment and DBC, if you’re considering it.
Thank you for sharing, Carol! I'm so happy to hear about the fantastic results you've gotten already in such a short time. The "healing window" is going to last 8-12 months so, it will be exciting to see how much more progress you can make in that time. Please keep us updated.
I began using red light immediately following my treatment. Research has demonstrated that "...low level light irradiation (LLLI) using 630 nm light emitting diodes (LEDs) could enhance replicative and colony formation potentials of MSCs..." Here's a couple papers on the subject: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18003339/ and pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32013851/
Adjustments are a truly amazing tool! But, as with any tool, the real value lies in using the correct tool, in the correct way, at the right time for the thing you're trying to accomplish.
At 11:10 in this video I share research that linked reduction in type II collagen directly to degenerative disc disease. It's a very interesting study - www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Collagen-type-II-is-downregulated-in-the-nucleus-to-Lian-Gao/c4e1e86d50092941dc0cf9bed15c48f082441cd6
@@painfixprotocol It is interesting, but since it is in vitro I guess it’s not clear that consuming collagen would lead to it showing up in your discs. Have you come across studies showing that? I’m interested because I have multiple thoracic schmoorls nodes and other degenerative discs. Thanks!
You're welcome@@kieranleiper3342. You're right that there's no study (that I'm aware of) showing the effect of collagen on spinal in vivo. But, given what this and other studies have shown in human spinal discs in vitro, that collagen in the most abundant protein in connective tissue, numerous other documented health benefits and the outstanding safety profile (even at very high doses) - I fail to see any downside.
That makes sense @@painfixprotocol . Have you seen the study done by DiscGenics? I'm curious what the difference is between the stem cells they used and the ones you received are? Great results on their study.
Excellent video, but that’s quite the norm with all is your videos. Would you be willing to do a similar for those of us who are getting stem cells to address cervical disc herniations.
Thanks Dylan! The rehab following a cervical spine treatment would have a lot of the same features. The most important thing would be to restore normal structure (lordotic curve) and function (movement) to the neck. I cover some of that information in this video: th-cam.com/video/__R929WrBcU/w-d-xo.html
At minute 11:20 you talk about type 2 collegen and its benefits, but ending the video you say to take type 1 & type 3. Should i ideally be taking type 1,2 & 3?
Great question, John! Yes, different types of collagen do different things in the body and while types I & III usually steal the spotlight, it's important to get plenty of type 2 collagen.
Great question, Carlos! I've got an entire video coming out soon specifically about that type of traction and I'm going to share all the information. Stay tuned!
The cost varies quite a bit depending on a few things: 1) The region of the body 2) How many cells you're getting - I had 50 mil in my shoulder and only 25 mil in my ankle 3) How involved the procedure is. In my case, the 50 million MSCs + PRP to my shoulder cost $3,000 and the 25 million MSCs to my ankle cost $2,000.
