Hi Julius, I can not thank you enough for your tutorials, seriously, very well explained and useful! I have one question for you if you don't mind, I am taking over a project where they have already implemented GA3 and also GTM on their website. Now I want to migrate to GA4 and do all the tacking using only GTM while keeping the GA3 property. When I go to UA property to create a GA4 property, I see that the gtag.js is implemented on the website. Should I ask the developer to DELETE that gtag on the website so that I connect the new GA4 property to GTM and maintain only the GTM code? Thank you again!
This video is very helpful. However, my gtm is in AMP container. AMP container does not has the GA4 option, only the UA version. Should I create a new WEB container in GTM or just insert the gtag code from GA to my website. will it make redundant tracking code for this situation ? Appreciate your time !
Does this mean that by using Tag Manager with GA4 you don't need to inject any tracking code on your website? Ahh, I think I've just realised what you are saying - are you saying that rather than use the gtag.js script that is generated in Analytics, you can hop over to GTM and make use of the tracking snippet already installed when you set up the GTM tracking in video 3? Hence there's only one set of tracking codes on the website and you avoid having two sets?
GTM dynamically *injects* tracking codes on websites. This means that in many cases, you don't need to add custom codes directly to the source code of the website.
UPDATE: A new version of this tutorial has been released. Watch it here th-cam.com/video/dJGbCdgUAHk/w-d-xo.html
Thank you. I was just about to ask if you had an update to this. You're the best. :-)
