- For todays video I'm gonna answer a question that some have been asking me in my previous video titled How I Got My Teaching Certificate in Canada. And just to add a lil bit of trivia to that topic, I did not go back to school to study certain courses or did any practicum to be re-certified here. In short, I was not given any condition. After assessing my credentials, they right away just granted my certification, just exactly one year after I landed here.
So the question that I'm gonna answer to day is: How to apply as a public school teacher in Canada if you are internationally educated, meaning if you were educated or trained to become a teacher from outside of Canada, like if you're from the United States, United Kingdom, or in asian countries like the Philipines, where I come from.

Just to ask, where did you get your certificate/confirmation that the medium of instruction you used in teaching math is English?
Is it from the university you graduated? Or from your school head where you are working at.
Thank you for the reply.
They didn't ask me that kind of document
I saw these requests in the Ontario teacher's collage "Completed a minimum three-year post-secondary degree from an acceptable post-secondary institution" "Successfully completed a four-semester teacher education program" I have a few questions 1. Post-secondary degree equivalent to bachelor's or master's degree 2. Is the teacher education program a PGCE or a diploma?
Please reply ❤️
Hey ma’am.let’s say am from Africa and I majored in Business studies and Evonomics graduated 2023 but still have not gotten a job am I still able to apply?
Sounds like you need to go back to school here if you want to teach. The best thing you can do is to contact the licensing body of your target province here.
@@ingridfraser36 k ma'am thank you very much..
Do you need to be PR in able to do that?
They dont ask/require you to be a PR. You just need to be licensed here.
Regarding the statement of professional standing, if I don’t have any experience of teaching in school in India but I am teaching Mathematics as a lead instructor in Mathnasium in Canada Ontario, can I still apply for OCT licence and ask for the SOP from my institution
That, I am not sure about. Its better to contact OCT and ask about that
