    My childhood was in England. We used to march in competitions with Juvenile Jazz Band at Richmond Castle. Fond memories. Enjoying your walks from flat and hot New Orleans.

    It must be strange to go from big open spaces to such a big and interesting town like Richmond

      Must admit, prefer the open spaces, but as an urban space this market town has a lot going for it. Thanks for watching

    Thank you for this, I did the trail back in May and it was fantastic to watch it back. Can't wait for the next part!

      Wow, nice to meet you again and thanks. Bit of a coincidence but I’ve jus been to the hut today! Planning to do a trail review for the Cumbria Way and been asked a couple of times about N to S, so I thought I would try it, of course could not resist a rest in the hut. Thanks for support. Cheers Nigel

    The 2 Moors Way is a fabulous walk taking in both Exmoor and Dartmoor and probably in my top 5.

      Totally agree, and surprised it’s not more popular.

    Yes I have walked this LDP and enjoyed it very much. It’s good to have the sea at both ends and that wonderful town of Richmond to visit.
    Having done the 2 Moors Way, half of Cambrian Way, Pennine Way, Cleveland Way, Hadrians Wall, North Norfolk Coastal Path et. I highly recommend the Wainwright walk.

      Totally agree it’s highly recommended. Quite a collection of completions there. Two Moors Way done with a series of videos, the remainder are on my to do list with maybe the Cleveland Way in a few weeks time. Thanks for watching and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Cheers

    Enjoyed this section even though I ended thigh deep in a bog on the moors behind 9 Standards Rigg - mind you, the heavens opened as we approached Ravenseat just to wash the peat off my leg.

      I can relate to that and it was interesting to talk to others who had similar fate crossing these moors on the wettest July in years.

    Looks like you had similar weather when me and the missus did the CtoC in 2007, it was sideways rain coming across the Moor and that was in July as well😂

    The most beautiful country is England -nature- and far away of big cities . Cold sometimes? Not watching your great videos from here, south Florida! 😎👋

      Ha, I wear sunglasses to keep the stinging windy rain out of my eyes 😎. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the rest of the series.

    Hello, please could you let me know why there are different routes depending on the time of year? Is this due to shooting or weather related? Thanks!

    • @AmblingTrails
      @AmblingTrails  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Certainly, they are trying to limit erosion, so there are three routes which are used at a specific time of year to allow the ground to recover in turn. The route sequence has been chosen to align with the seasons and yes chosen with the expected weather in mind. Thanks for watching and I did enjoy the question, happy to help with any further queries you might have.
