Yeah welcome to the Ren rabbit hole! Awesome job catching lyrics and meaning first shot. There are so many (hundreds) more songs and like you said Ren does put his thoughts into his songs. Raw. I’m subscribing because I really liked your reaction👏👏👏
A very wise head upon your shoulders you have young sir! I loved it, your reaction and thoughts felt very genuine and heartfelt. Subbed for more Ren, everything Ren!
Renegades!! We got a bright young man finding Ren for the first time.. hey, man, great reaction.. I knew awhile back when I saw you react to H. Mack OB 18.. I knew you would appreciate Ren. So glad you got around to him. This guy is next level.
Keep listening to Ren and you won't have to imagine the levels of introspection he goes to in his songs, nor the levels of sadness, humour, and wisdom he imparts. Ren is a once in a lifetime artist. Enjoy your discovery.
Beautiful reaction. Ren has had Lyme disease, brain damage, autoimmunity sine he was 19. He is 34 now and still trying to heal. But in the meantime, he just keeps on puting out great music. Check out Sick Boi!❤
You fully understand what he is saying! The classic battle of good and evil, whether it is mental health or drugs or self doubt or people who want to put you down this speaks to it all
So grateful I stumbled accross your channel. You caught immediately the dark and light reference. Can tell your emotional intelligence and spirit are on another level. Hope to hear more Ren from you. I will go check out your music too. 💕
This is one of the most insightful reactions I have ever seen to this song. You had a total grasp on it right from the beginning. I just subbed so I can see more of your reactions.
Great reaction man 👍❤ And welcome to the world of Ren. A roller coaster ride through emotions, wisdom, musical genius and genres. Others already recommended his chapters. They are autobiographical readings about his story, which you can find on his RenMakesStuff channel. From the end of his best friend Joe, over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and attempts of treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Absolutely worth watching. You will understand his songs even better afterwards and they become even more intense. Very personal and emotional videos. His song Troubles is a kind of condensation of these readings.
Welcome to the Renegades. You aren't late to the party. The party has just started. He multi-genre and creative in a way that takes it all to a new level, and helping others like myself (also have late diagnosed Lymes, had not picked up my guitar for a long ass time) and inspiring others to push through seems to be part of his "Renscape". Looking forward to hearing your music, too! 😊
The fact that this video only has 57 views, but it has over 20 likes and this many comments is an incredible ratio. You are totally connecting to the people that are finding your channel.
Great reaction man and just a correction ren was not born with anything he got lyme disease in hit late teens and it went misdiagnosed and taking wrong medicine for many years which led to some mental issues and brian damage
Thanks for taking that suggestion!! This true masterpiece is always a great introduction...and Ren's catalog just gets better and better the deeper one dives...any path forward will be the right one...ENJOY!!!! ...and we (the Renegades) will be here for it!!!❤...oh just noted the Lion of Judah sweatshirt... don't miss the I Shot the Sheriff mashup by Ren and his former band The Big Push ...live on the streets of Brighton (I think...)✌
Subbed! You’re reaction was so refreshing! I loved how moved you were listening to Ren and how much you connected with this piece. You have a depth and a respect for the human condition. It’s apparent in your response. Thank you for your honesty and authenticity. You’re a keeper 💖
Buckle up, Ren and the Renegades are simply the best.❤ Ren is THE gem of our time, unbelievable🏃 talented, authentic with such a wise, fun and lovely personality. Great reaction 🔥
A masterpiece. For sure. Ren is legend. He is saving me every day with hope - loosen the noose on the rope - gives me goosebumps EVERY time I hear that, and I've been replaying it for months now. Great reaction.
Thank you for your content. Welcome to the Ren Rabbit hole, the Renegades are gonna show up for your reaction. I loved all of it. Look forward to more.
Great reaction, my dear! REN is one of the greatest singer/writer/ storytellers that I e ever known and I’m in my late sixties. He has an enormous catalogue of songs and videos. He was a member of 2 previous bands also. First is Trick the Fox and second is The Big Push which is unbelievably amazing. He left both bands due to health problems. I can’t tell you how good this man is, seriously. Tons of his songs (including Hi REN) we’re one take live performances. I’m a new subscriber to your channel and look forward to watching your mind being blown. Bravo !
❤❤❤ Subbed in hopes of more Ren. Generational Talent This is more of a performance piece. Ren is a multi genre artist. He was not born with his issues. He was bitten by a tick when he was 19 and misdiagnosed for 7 years while Lyme disease destroyed his body and brain. He suffered years of daily excruciating pain. At one point he went into a stress induced psychosis from it all. He found his own diagnosis by not giving up and learning all he could, then close to death a stem cell doctor saw his vlog and gave him a free stem cell transplant which saved his life. Btw Harry Mac did a Tribute to Ren as well you could react to 😉
@@52Mizo check out Troubles when you're ready to hear him get into more of the details of what he's been through. A lot of his music speaks to his illness and mental health stuff, but that track in particular is all about painting a pretty visceral picture of what his experience was like as he went through his twenties... 7 Sins also, but Troubles really tells the story. He's also recorded his life story in 7 chapters on his other channel (@RenMakesStuff). It takes about 3 or 4 hours to get through them all if I remember correctly, and I would probably save those for after you've heard a little bit more of his music and are really ready to "get deep" so to speak. His 1 Million subscribers video is a must - a lot of people do a reaction to that one. Have fun!!!
This came up today and so gals to have watched. What you had been told about him had me thinking, no if you just see it from there you’ll miss so much more. Your intellect shone through. He does inspire many. I’m sure somebody has already mentioned this is a live one take shot. There were four and this was the one chosen. Imagine a nine minute song so full of meaning and the theatrics without any cuts. Welcome to the Reniverse. Along to watch your journey down the rabbit hole as well as check out your other stuff. You are wise and a great reaction. Thank you. Peace and love and hope you enjoy the ride.
Nobody gets Ren quite like musicians. Breaks pretty much every single rule for a song and a music video and gets 42 million views. I've learned more about music and songwriting in the last 2 years since I discovered Ren than the prior 40 years combined. SICK BOI is a great follow up to HI REN. Enjoy!!
I'm not a musician (I never got beyond being a not terribly good violinist at school in the 70s), but seeing musicians and singers react has been very enlightening. Initially, I essentially paid attention to the lyrics and overall performance, and my feelings about that and the intended message, but what I have slowly come to be able to properly hear while watching is how for most of the time, the guitar part seems "simple" while also being just perfect. For the most part, it's not fast, or complicated, but is a perfect compliment to the voice.
I'm 56, so to me, between age and this song, the truest message anyone can receive, in my opinion... We are all on our own journey to grow, learn, and evolve into better we all need to face that dark side in us, learn from it to then use it for your positive growth in spirit, emotionally and physically. It's not always easy and honestly, more often than not, it's damn scarry and hard. But when you come back from that battle, your outlook, perception, and life look better and brighter. So as Ren so aptly pointed out, enter into your eternal dance, take the lead, learn, and make a conscious decision to use that part of you for your betterment. FYI sometimes you will slip back into those negative, harsh, destructive habits, but it's OK we all slip back. Just return with more resiliency and continue on your journey.
Another great react my guy. Glad you ended up starting here with Ren. I thought it may resonate with you. Musically, most of his stuff is more in the rap genre than he demonstrates here. And honsetly ive not delved too deeply into his music. He does have a passionate fan base that is hungry for reaction vids, and i think theyll love your thoughts and authenticity (assuming the YT algorythm suggest your vid to them). Either way, glad you enjoyed.
Ren is more of a gengerbender, but his latest album "Sick Boi", that became no 1 in the UK 2023 -beating Drake, Rick Ashley and The Rolling Stones is mostly hip hop.
Subbed for more Ren! This was a great reaction, i love when new musicians find Ren! ❤ Keep going, he is just amazing at everything he does. He has no set genre, he is an excellent rapper but he also plays many instruments and sings beautifully as well, and his songs have no one set style. I think you'll enjoy about anything you listen to, just depends if you want deeper emotional stuff or something more light and fun for what to try next. My only advice is DON'T react to Kujo Beat Down until you know the whole story, it's an amazing diss track, but there is a HUGE backstory to discover before the song makes any sense.
Great reaction hope you do more Ren I agree with Back on 74 Message in a botle request Or Ren with the Big Push I shot the Sherriff Road to Zion Hip hop Genesis
And here are some suggestions of where to go from here just off the top of my head. Chalk Outlines, his amazing cover of I shot the Sheriff, the Tale of Jenny and Screech (make sure to react to the version containing all 3 songs in one video), Sick Boi, Suicide, Back on 74, Money Game 1, 2 and 3 (these are separate and you should create a reaction video for each of them). Those are all the titles I can think of at the moment. I’m sure other people will give you more suggestions, but those are all bangers. I’m still a hairy Mac fan primarily, but I love seeing people discover REN as well.
Money Ties would be a good follow up to the Money game trilogy.. most people do Money game 1 and 2 together them Money game 3 on its own. Money Ties is practically money game 4. I think he would like the song Hunger too. And there will be plenty of Renegades coming in with suggestions soon who know a lot more than me. His reaction to Sick Boi will be interesting.
Welcome to the Rabbit Hole! We are friendly here! I appreciate how heartfelt your reaction was. You were invested in Ren's artistry. What makes this even more impressive is the fact that he and a few friends filmed this in a random basement that they THOUGHT they had permission to be in. When they found out they didn't, they were given 30 minutes to clear out by the owner. So they essentially had 3 tries to get a good recording of this. They had a few cameras in place, but Ren had to get one full run through of a 9 minute song and spoken word piece done and he only had three chances to get it. There wouldn't be another chance because he was leaving shortly after that to go to Canada to undergo Stem cell treatment for lyme disease. He was convinced that he had failed. It wasn't until he was watching the video back with his friend Viktus that he realized that he "might" have a "decent" take. That take now has over 40M views. To continue your journey, I would suggest Power, he and his friend Sam recorded it in Sam's car as a sort of FU to Sony when they dropped him after he was too sick to keep up with the recording schedule they had set for him. Or if you want to see him in his younger days you can check out when he was in the band Trick the Fox. He also has a lot of really good busking videos with his band The Big Push. Two of my personal fav songs of theirs are "Why my Woman" and "Radio" - if you watch Radio, check out the Livenation version they recorded during Covid, the video is bookmarked so you can skip directly to that song. Happy to have you on this journey!
Great summary, great encouragement! Two small timeline corrections -- he was signed with Sony when he was 19, during the Trick The Fox days, and they both agreed in a friendly way he was too ill to finish recording the album; they let him use the unfinished masters to complete his Freckled Angels album five years later. "Power" was about leaving a bad manager, not about Sony. And the stem cell treatments happened in 2016, enabling him to get out of bed and perform with the Big Push and his other collabs. The trip to Canada in 2023 was a non-stem-cell attempt to fix the lingering pain and fatigue he still dealt with (and apparently will for the rest of his life). Cheers!
New subscriber here! Major Ren fan ! I am a "Renegade" which is what Ren fans are called! Please do yourself a favor and go down this massive Ren rabbit hole!
Subbed! Great Reaction from a RENegade. As a fellow sufferer of auto-immune conditions, Ren has become a voice to those who feel discarded by the medical profession. Ren is a true philosopher and genuinely funny empathetic guy. Welcome to the Ren Rabbit hole. 🏴Greetings from the UK. 🏴
Ha! Get ready for Ren. You have an amazing catalog to dive into. I’ll leave it to the Renegades to suggest which of his artistic masterpieces to check out next because I have multiple favorites by Ren. I would just point out that Ren’s thing is live one-takes 😳 He is a virtuoso on multiple instruments including guitar, bass and piano no two songs of his are alike as he draws from every genre of music that there is. His band, The Big Push, is also amazing and a blast! Ren is a generational talent and some, including this old musician, have concluded that Ren might well be the GOAT. Great reaction. Big love from New England!
You've just opened the door to the rest of your life😅 ren will inspire you as an independent artist, please go over his back catalogue, and his short a day in the life of ren, itll show you what a good and funny guy he is
This was so satisfying to watch. You are a Renegade already. I have seen it in your face. Keep digging down the rabbit hole, man. It's super worth it. Appreciate the fire reaction!!
Subscribed! I really enjoyed and appreciate this reaction, and I hope you do more Ren in the NEAR future. Another good introduction to Ren is his 1 million subscriber video. He came across my page when i needed a change in scenery musically, which really allowed me to be open minded. His lyrics are thought provoking and he's got tracks with flows and beats like ear candy!
Yessss yess yess! 🔥 reaction! Ren gotta be independent, he says too much they dont want people to hear 👂 Came for Ren but stayed for you. Hope you do more Ren, the Renegades will be here in troves supporting you and subbing trust. Ren is a big supporter of reaction channels also. He raps, sings, plays most instruments, beatboxes, produces his own beats and music, direct..all whilst fighting a debilitating chronic illness which has in the past led him bed bound for years. Would love to see you react to his newest track Slaughterhouse, The hunger, Genesis (official and live acoustic), and to see some of his vocal skills, perhaps back on 74, Fred again mashup, or his band The Big Push doing a mashup of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop (that’s on The Big Push channel). Big Love 🫶🏼
You were really able to appreciate this.. you will be blown away by this mans talent and humanity. I look forward to seeing you have a Ren playlist in the near future ❤
Great reaction.. so a few things to note about this performance, everything has meaning, you will see that with a lot of his songs.. he will leave Easter eggs for fans to find in some cases.. so first thing to note this was a One Take performance.. this is live.. you noticed how the lights responded differently when the two different sides of Ren were singing.. also.. check out the floor.. he set the lighting up so that two shadows are cast.. representing the two sides.. on the nice Ren side he is wearing a cross earing... at first when bad Ren shows up you can hear some timidness in good Rens voice, but as the song goes along each time good Rens voice begins to sound more solid and confident and in the last verse he finds his full courage and stands up to the bully. For first time, though, you picked up the message right away.. this is something that we all deal with internally to some varying degrees. This song is powerful. Now I'm not saying I know all the details.. but in Rens case he actually has Lyme disease.. but initially it was misdiagnosed.. many of the symptoms of Lyme disease are similar to mental illlness. So he was being treated for mental illness but he was not mentally ill. Well the combination of Lyme Disease and meds for a mental condition he didn't have put him in a real bad condition. Often, this disease comes from being bitten by a tick.. this will come up in future songs.. anyway.. he actually had a record deal, but when he got ill, he literally didn't have energy to get out of bed most days. Sadly he just had a relapse and is not doing to well with his health. Next I'd suggest doing The Tales of Jenny and Screech.. best way to do it is watch the version that has all three songs in one.. Violets tale is the 3rd one. This also is done live in one take... not all 3 at once but all three are done live on the streets. Those will knock your socks off.. shows even more of his ability to go into characters then Hi Ren. Plenty of Renegades will come in and give you better details than me. Excited to see you dive into Ren man. I told you Harry Mack was the new Bob Ross creating art in front of your eyes all with a big smile and positive energy.. well for me Ren is the new Bob Dylan.. like Dylan his music can't be pigeonholed into one genre.. and like Dylan he has great word play.. they both put out music that makes you think and stimulates necessary conversations.. both artists aren't afraid to speak out against a variety of social issues.. both shed light onto dark sides of humanity and give voices to those who usually are not heard. This is a great rabbit hole to jump down. Great reaction
Ha.. hey thanks Matt .. and Mizo.. I know you are just a young buck.. so.. just in case.. cuz you may not know that Bob Dylan is a living Legend.. we are talking over 500 songs.. over 2000 artists have covered his songs.. we are talking 11 Grammies.. I mean this guy won the Nobel prize for literature thanks to his brilliant lyrics. Dylan was side by side with Martin Luther King Jr during the million man March and he performed for the crowd his song Only a Pawn in Their Game.. that song breaks down how racism is a learned.. it isn't a natural response.. its taught and in the USA it was taught by the wealthy as a way to justify their own greed. Back then only the wealthy were actually educated.. and they taught the poor uneducated white population that blacks were less than human.. claimed they were savages.. all to justify their use of slavery. They use racism to act as a distraction.. to have us fighting among ourselves while these vultures rob us blind. Sadly the song is still relvant today.. I really believed we were on a path that would end that.. but I guess I never anticipated a leader in America that would support such nonsense. Sorry.. off on a soap box for a second there... but my point is that when I compare this young man to Bob Dylan.. to me that is about the highest compliment I could think of.. I think many of the young people are focused on the vocals and get mad at that comparison.. because.. hey.. I love Dylan but.. naw.. he doesn't have the range of a voice that Ren does.. but for me both are excellent at matching the sound to the emotion they are trying to convey through their brilliant lyrics.. just.. well Ren sounds better.. lol.. as a old timer Dylan still sits on top for me.. but I think Ren has moved up to second place for me and that I never thought I'd see. Anyway.. I'm excited to see youbgo down the Ren rabbit hole and maybe as you get through some more Ren we will give you some Dylan to check out. Sorry about the novels in your comment section. 😆 🤣
RENegade here. Your reaction was awesome.❤❤ If you'd like to see more storytelling, then Jenny and Screech's tale (all three videos in one reaction) is the next step down the rabbit hole. Ren has hundreds of songs and is releasing an album soon. If you'd like to know more about our sick boi, check out the chapters videos and watch his 1 million subscriber video. The RENegades are always here if you need any song suggestions. Much love to you from New Zealand ❤🇳🇿🦋🐷🐰❤
Welcome to the world of Ren! Great reaction! So much more for you to discover from Ren and all his very talented friends. Enjoy! Subbed to follow your journey. ☮️💙😎
The main thing that this song taught me is that: Ren is inevitable. He's got this thing inside him, and he has to get it out. No choice. Edit: great reaction, btw. Please check out more Ren. He's all over the place doing his thing.
The UK is killing it. REN, man - what an amazing artist. He hits it out of the park every time. A fun listen (and, all of them are good) from a flow perspective is, “Losing It” - not only does he go nuts with bars, I think he did it for free just because he liked the EDM track he raps over. So, no money - just for fun - remember that as you watch it and you’ll be like, W!T!F!.
My top YT search is “hi ren reaction” so I have seen a lot of them. This is one of the best I have seen. Especially really trying to instant what he is saying while appreciating his rapping.
Welcome to the ranks of the Renegades mate, like your style and take on the man himself (Ren)... Happy to have liked and subscribed, keep reacting to Ren, wait till you hear his raping skills man..peace and massive respect from the UK 🇬🇧

I love it that you are starting your Ren journey. There are dozens of Ren videos you can react to and it will only grow your channel. Keep up the good work. You’ve entered a crowded field of reactors and you’re one of the best. Very impressive

Great reaction hope you do more Ren
I agree with Back on 74 Message in a botle request
Or Ren with the Big Push I shot the Sherriff Road to Zion Hip hop
Genesis
We’re here! You got a new RENegade sub over here. Can’t wait to watch you discover more!
@@wesleydale1 thank you for these suggestions 👌🔥
Money Ties would be a good follow up to the Money game trilogy.. most people do Money game 1 and 2 together them Money game 3 on its own. Money Ties is practically money game 4. I think he would like the song Hunger too. And there will be plenty of Renegades coming in with suggestions soon who know a lot more than me. His reaction to Sick Boi will be interesting.
@@SamSnips nice! Great info, thank you
@@SamSnips❤
Fantastic reaction. Thank you. Subbed & liked. Welcome from this RENegade.
❤️🌊⛵
Loved how you said yourself that you have to balance EXACTLY 💯 right!! A pendulum swaying
Great reaction! New subscriber ❤
Ha! Get ready for Ren. You have an amazing catalog to dive into. I’ll leave it to the Renegades to suggest which of his artistic masterpieces to check out next because I have multiple favorites by Ren. I would just point out that Ren’s thing is live one-takes 😳
He is a virtuoso on multiple instruments including guitar, bass and piano no two songs of his are alike as he draws from every genre of music that there is. His band, The Big Push, is also amazing and a blast! Ren is a generational talent and some, including this old musician, have concluded that Ren might well be the GOAT. Great reaction. Big love from New England!
You've just opened the door to the rest of your life😅 ren will inspire you as an independent artist, please go over his back catalogue, and his short a day in the life of ren, itll show you what a good and funny guy he is
Its sang, played and recorded in one shot live.
Ren-ergades peace love and happiness

This was so satisfying to watch. You are a Renegade already. I have seen it in your face.
Keep digging down the rabbit hole, man. It's super worth it. Appreciate the fire reaction!!
Ha ha! I think you just fell down Ren's rabbit hole! 🤪🤣 I bet you will part of Renagades soon 😉
Thanks for your reaction!
Big Love 🫶🏼
You were spot on with this reaction bro!
🎯
Us Renegades can't wait to go down the rabbit hole with you x
Welcome to the Reniverse ! Excellent reaction, you really got it x
Welcome to the wonderful world of REN, our lyrical genius and beautiful soul. Great first reaction. Every song is 🔥. Subbed for more Ren.
Damn this song and performance is Profound and you showed your wisdom at the beginning too. This fed my soul 💗✌️
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Welcome sir!! The rabbit hole is deep. You'll get a ton of suggestions and you'll never go wrong with Ren. The most versatile artist you'll meet.
Great reaction, I loved it!
You can't go wrong with Ren, he's awesome. I hope you'll react to more Ren, starting with Sick Boi.
I got you thanks for the suggestion ❗️
You were really able to appreciate this.. you will be blown away by this mans talent and humanity. I look forward to seeing you have a Ren playlist in the near future ❤
Welcome to the Reniverse. This is your home now. 😂 I’m here for your journey.
Great insights brudda 🚀 just trying to appreciate art on this earth 🌎 this the journey glad you tuned in
@@SamSnips Nice Comparison!..someone who knows both Bob Dylan AND Bob Ross is golden in my book👌
Ha.. hey thanks Matt .. 😆 🤣
Great reaction. Welcome on board
Great reaction! Welcome you are a Renegade now!
Renegade here, enjoy the ride, this rabbit hole is huge but i promise you will never be dissapointed. ❤ just subbed.
