Fun and cheery music, "Oh, look how easy it is the install the fan blades!" Said no one ever.
Still a good instructional video, though. Cheers!

This is my third fan Hunter from Costco. The instructional video could be improved. The announcer could go slower so you do not have to continue going back to try and catch what she said. All in all I did it myself and am happy with the features this fan has. Elii eating pull chains is a +.

This 50something gal installed this in about 3 hours. My goof occurred at 4:51 when I failed to connect the plugs from the motor to the light kit securely. I spent almost an hour trying to figure out why the light worked but the fan didn't. Went through all the troubleshooting steps. Removed the canopy and redid the wiring, checked the light switch box, etc., Finally, I took off the light kit and unplugged, re-plugged the plugs :) this time making sure they were snapped fully into place! It takes a little extra effort to push the connectors firmly together. Voila! The fan worked. It's usually the simplest solution, right?! Now that I'm an expert, I ordered one more of these (Costco) for the bedroom. BTW, it probably would've taken twice as long to install WITHOUT this video. The music didn't bother me at all. One thing I noticed was that in the printed illustration the receiver is placed differently than it is in the video. It makes sense that the label side of the receiver should face the ceiling, not the floor. So I went with the printed illustration on that part and not the video.

Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.

Tip: if you are sure you wired the light correctly, but it still won't turn on, consider replacing your light switch too. Not every light switch works with every light. My light switches that I had before did not work with LED lights, so I had to swap out both the light abd the switch.

Love the looks but absolute nightmare to install. Why does anybody have to wire a receiver? It's like buying a TV and you're required to wire a receiver for the remote to work. Please enlighten me, because I dont get it. And installing the blades is a nightmare. Fighting with gravity with moving angled blades is not a good design. The blades should be snap ons. I had have zero issues with my 20 year old Hampton Bays fans. They were just too old school looking.

Took down a perfectly good old style ceiling fan to put this one in. Bummer, Ive been over the video 5x and nothing. Looks like it's going back to Costco !!!!

Thanks for NOT showing how to re-pair the remote........ This video didn't help for my situation.

    • @HampsonLife
      @HampsonLife 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I'm thinking of making a how-to video that actually explains how the remote pairing works....
The Fan on/off w/ the up arrow pairing does NOT work with the remote K6266-02 (as stated in the manual). You have to take the battery cover off to use the PAIRing button.
The PAIRing button does the same function for PAIRing and UN-PAIRing. On this unit, a quick press/release is used.
If you hold the PAIRing button in for 5+ seconds or longer, the LEDs on the remote blink differently. Apparently this is for a feature that does not exist on the Avia II.
      How to pair or un-pair:
      1. Turn off the power for 10 seconds to the fan. This is done by a wall switch or a fuse box pending how your wiring is setup. If you have more than one fan, make sure the others are turned off or power is disconnected. You will do one fan at a time.
      2. Within a minute or two of restoring power to the fan, press and release the PAIR button inside the remote.
      3. Light blinks codes
--2 light blinks means the remote was UN-PAIRed
--3 light blinks means the remote was PAIRed. (I think the fan might turn on to low as well but it's easier to look at the light on this unit).
      4. Wait 3 minutes after step 3 for the wireless unit to confirm setting.
You have to make sure the remote is UN-PAIRed from a fan before trying to PAIR it with a different fan. In my case, I had 2 remotes going to 1 fan and I needed the 2nd remote to go to the 2nd fan. So I had to UN-PAIR one of the remotes by following the steps above (2 blinking lights, then I waited 5 minutes to turn off/on the wall switch and verify the remote did not control the fan anymore). I then had to turn the power off to fan 1 and 2, then only turn fan 2 power on. I then pressed the PAIR button on remote 2 so it would PAIR with Fan 2. After doing this you'll want to turn on the power to both fans, wait a few minutes, then verify they work properly.
I'm assuming the unit can only do one thing at a time, which means you can't pair then try to press the button again to UN-PAIR or try to PAIR 2 remotes at the same time. You have to turn off the power, wait 10? seconds, then turn the power back on and do it again.
Also, make sure to UN-PAIR any remotes before trying to PAIR it up to a different fan.

@Hampson Life Thank you so much for this! I'm having the WORLD of issues with these fans! The house that I'm renting has them in every room and ALL of them flicker off. You can hear the whole unit drop power and then kick back on. It's irritating. But thank you for these steps laid out like this!
