Gusto mo ng Mix Martial Arts mag-Yaw-Yan ka. May stricking, throws and submission. Creative kase si Grandmaster Nap and company. Latest ngayon ay Fervillion.

I don't believe that this is purely Filipino it is derived from Aikido. Its only a branch from its mother tree.

Master Gavileño was a student of Benjamin Galarpe, who taught Aikido under O'Sensei Ueshiba's Aikikai and later transferred to the Ki Society of Sensei Koichi Tohei. Tapondo is not a Filipino martial arts but a rebranding and evolution of Aikido. It's already developed, kaya wag nating sabihing tayo ang nagdevelop nito. Aikido practitioner ako at same roots lng kami ni Master Gavileño. Mr. Gavileño is in 4th Generation from O'Sensei, I'm in the 7th generation.

this is just but a slight modification of aikido.. i have nothing against the founder but please don't declare it as a filipino martial arts because modifications made are very minor.. for instance, I have seen no difference in your application of Aikido's Irimi-nage..

@@KenMikaze it's just an alteration of spelling and pronunciation because it is lot easier for westerners to read that way. but still a technique that originates from outside their country. modern arnis as well has been added with some wing chun, when dan inosanto trained with bruce lee.

The Filipino variation of aikido :)I miss this gym. Our master is one of the first filipino to be promoted by o sensei. (morehei ueshiba)
People there are very open minded even master himself is allowing his students who. Practiced other martial arts. To teach or share their knowledge but for free. And you can do it in his own gym. But you can't charge people in return. :)

If you know the man's history then you will understand..of course its aikido but probably because of disagreement and his eventual breakaway from Aikikai(The Headquarters in Japan) then he can name his art whatever he wants and not credit Aikikai. My previous master who was his contemporary told the story. Respect.

I have deep respect for Filipino martial arts but lets be honest. This is nothing more than Aikido with a name change. No issue with it but at least say it and don't pretend you created some new art. Korea did the exact same thing, they call it Hapkido.

This is misleading at best and dishonest at worst. This so-called indigenous Filipino art is wholly based on Aikido. Proper attribution should be given to O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba.
