- Don’t make waste reduction at home complicated. Instead, focus on small changes and quick wins that are relatively easy to implement. Introduce the changes gradually - weeks, or even months, based on your habit and living situation. Eventually, those small actions will add up to dramatic changes. Looking back at my first TH-cam videos and now, I can proudly say that I have changed my lifestyle for the better. Of course there are rooms for much more improvement but hey, stop being too hard on yourself sometimes.

I meant, toxic people and trolls are everywhere, just ignore them. But here is the thing, we human are hardwired in a way that doesn't take harsh negative criticism and judgement well. Sustainable living is a movement that needs 'a village'. You need to inspire people with exciting ideas to change, not pushing them away. It will goes a long way.

Bravo! It is basically about going back to basics. When I was little, my friend’s mother used to put all the crumbs from breads and toast into an old can and every morning she would sprinkle them outside on a ledge for the birds!! That was about 60 years ago!!

For milk cartons - check if there is a local milkman in your area! We now get glass bottles of fresh milk from a local farm left on our doorstep in the morning (and oat milk, orange juice, eggs, bread etc), they are becoming popular again :)
That's amazing. After buying plant based milk for the last few years, I'm planning to make oat milk myself ;). Actually we don't drink milk, only Alexia does ^^
I want to add to this. Depending on where you live you might be able go get milk in glass bottles in an organic supermarket or sometimes even in a regular supermarket. So, you might be torn between a milk in glass bottles from the other end of the country or in a local product in tetra pact. Sometimes you can also get milk directly at a farmers in your own glass bottle by going to a "Milchtanstelle" (a station for milk instead for petrol). Though I haven't tried one of them. I've also seen oat drink in glass bottles by the brand Voelkel. Maybe that's an option if you are too busy to make your own oat drink.

Let me say that I love your vlogs because of your meaningful content, the beautiful video work, calm music, charming little daughter, your creativity and all that you’ve taught me as a seasoned gardener about your techniques. Lol sometimes having to read what you are saying takes me away from the gorgeous views and I go back to just enjoy them over and over.
I passed your name onto others, one being a young woman who is deeply depressed and your vlog spoke of such. Another woman who lost her husband tragically to a drunk driver and her two children and herself were badly injured…..I passed your vlog on the pretty journal making so as she could remember each day as she recovers in a beautiful grateful way. And to myself as each day when I feel my body slowing down to focus on my art and for me to climb the steps into my art studio in my barn and to focus on creating as a healer, to walk the hill to my greenhouse and restore the cycle of planting as a food source, a medicinal herb source and a reminder small things done each day mounts to accomplishments.
My suggestions as waste reducers is to shop at resale shops. I buy old blankets and wash them. I take old clothes and cut them into patches and sew them together and use the blankets as a filler….when the power goes out or when my grandchildren come over I have plenty of snuggle covers or we make sleeping tents and have reading time in them. The extras go to charity so someone else can be warm and feel special with a handmade gift. Old clothes can be torn into strips and rugs are made from them, pet beds and their own snuggle cover.
I collect rain water for my plants. I save the water from hand washing dishes and pour it onto plants outside. I collect sticks and limbs to build fires with, use as plant supports and to make hangings off tree limbs to decorate the garden.
Watching you paint by number with your daughter gave me the idea for my eight year old granddaughters birthday gift…she’s always saying she can’t paint like me so this way she can create a painting for her room…..she’s so patient…she spent three hours painting and listening to her book. As a Christmas gift to each four of my daughters and a daughter in law I bought paint by number pictures that will go nicely in their homes. Something on a cold winter day to do as they listen to their book…..we might even have a girls art day in my studio like we use to…
Again all this inspired from you…..I make bird treats with meat fats, seeds, fruit pieces, dried flower heads and pine cones and hang them out when winter comes. Last Christmas each one of my children I made wreaths for their home with pine cones, pine and dried flowers and seed pods and this year I’m hoping to make healing salves and tea mixtures and make them homemade baskets filled with such. I love to make homemade gifts……there’s so much each of us can do to occupy our mind and hands and to make a loved one feel special……thank you for being such an inspiration…….please more DIY s…….I have a wood working shop and a pottery shop wish you were my neighbor so I could share them with you and your little…☺️

Du hast nach Tipps gefragt, die jeder einzelne problemlos umsetzen kann. Wir haben es uns zur Angewohnheit gemacht, dass wir, wenn wir spazieren oder wandern gehen, immer einen Müllgreifer mitnehmen. So kann ohne Problem (Plastik) Müll gesammelt werden, der im Wald oder am Wegesrand liegt und im Anschluss auch entsprechend entsorgt werden. Viele Leute, die das mitbekommen, sprechen uns darauf an, sind begeistert und sagen, dass sie das auch demnächst umsetzen wollen! So wird aus einer kleinen Sache vielleicht mehr Achtsamkeit gegenüber der Natur!

A possibility to make things a little bit better is - from my experience- this little thing:
when we take a walk outside or going for a hike, we take a garbage gripper always with us, to reduce the trash in the forest or the fields. It's only a little thing but a lot of the people we meet while collecting the garbage are excited and tell us they will do it the same way now!

Jeder kleine Schritt ist schön um mit der Natur zu leben und nicht gegen die Natur! Wir Konsumenten sind es die, die Industrie in die Knie zwingen könnte. Jeder Fisch der uns angeboten wird kommt aus dem Meer welches gnadenlos leer gefischt wird. Jede Nachhaltigkeit mit einem Etikett versehen ist, ist von denen erkauft die daraus ihren Profit machen können. Den Ozean 🌊 ohne Fisch ist ein Tümpel und ohne Meerestiere kein Menschenleben.

For the books, because I love to read A LOT, I subscribed to the public library one year ago and I think it’s the best decision I ever made. I can read tons of books, guilt free. I don’t buy them (even if it’s second hand), I can try different types (like science fiction, teen novels, thriller, comic books). It’s like a treasure hunt, you can try your library recommandations and be pleasantly surprised. In most big cities, the library subscription is often free or not very expensive :)
When I was a kid, the library in my small village was my favorite place. I remember spending my afternoons during the summer holiday, reading everything I can and when I graduated and started to work, I stopped to go to library (even if I was thinking about it quite often). That’s why I enjoy so much my Saturday trips to the library, it brings back so many memories and it allows me to satisfy my thirst for new things to read and if I really fell in love with an author or a book, I still have the possibility to buy it (new or second hand). Now, my shelves are filled with books I really love and read again and again.
