Hey y'all! Happy Sunday!! Have you RV camped at a casino before? How has it worked out for you? Do you have favorite casino RV stops? Please share them in the comments. Thanks for watching!
I did route 66 from Mid California to Illinois in 2023. It took me a month because I wanted to stop and see lots of attractions, and didn't see them all. There is a route 66 book that lists lots of them.
Looks like you found a couple great campgrounds to stay at. Surprise meetings with friends is always special and next time your friends don't tell you where they're going to be, you should be suspicious that they're planning another surprise meeting. Hope the weather is good in Texas for you.
We’ve stayed at casinos on a couple of occasions. We have one we’ve been to a couple of times as a destination. We don’t gamble but the area it’s in is one of favorite places in the state.
I’ve stayed at Downstream on our way to and from Wisconsin and never paid for the overnight either time , on the way up or back to home (Texas) all within two weeks. You do need to visit the gift store in the casino to let them know which spot you’re parked at and they’ll give the “Q” card and the free night stay. Water and electric only, but great for a one nights stay. Easy on and off the interstate.
I always enjoy your trouble videos because y’all give a really good overview of the parks and the area and the history behind some of it. Safe travels and I hope to catch up to y’all Sometime during your Texas stay
Stay at the Durant Choctaw RV park all the time when we go to shows. Was just there a few weeks ago for Laney Wilson. The only issue I have with the park is they have permanent tables on the passenger side that are in the way of the front passenger slide out and your entry door as well, so if you have a larger rig you can not pull through with your tow vehicle. Winstar on I35 has the best RV resort and it is a Good Sam. First night is free if it is your first stay if you sign up for a Winstar Club card. Courtesy shuttles as well. One thing to note if there is a popular performer at one of the venues, rates for spaces can go up. We paid $100+ /nite for Laney Wilson in Choctaw.
Hey Y"all... good episode. Stayed at both. Downstream is particularly useful. Seems to be a natural stopping point for us. With the club free night, we always visit their restaurant (buffet). Downstream has a small herd of buffalo you can see on the entrance road from the convenience store to the casino 😂. Always seem to slip a casino overnight on our travels including just north of Missoula (8 free electric spots at Grey Wolf Peak Casino) on our Glacier trip. The other Route 66 casino you mentioned, was probably the one on I-44 west of Albuquerque. We have stayed there as well but prefer the Sky City Casino a little further west (very very in expensive, look for the billboards on I-44 with advertised special prices and mention at check in). Another natural stopping point. Have fun... Richard & Teresa
We stayed in that same Downstream RV park 2017 I think. Amazing. They also offered to pick you up and drop off shuttle from your site to the Casino. 🇨🇦
Enjoyed the experience and looks to be a good changeable stop for travelers. Always enjoy visiting a Casino. Thanks for sharing and looking forward for y'all being back in Texas. Back Home. Safe Travels Love Y'all Grammy Kay
We stayed a few nights at the Choctaw facility while having warranty work done on our Sundowner at the factory north of there in Coleman. It was KOA at that time, and it was spotless.
I don't know if you saw it when in the Downstream Casino but in the restaurant/bar the beer mugs filled from the bottom. Have done several rally's at Durant.
Our daughter lives just outside of Prior Lake, but we have not been able to book a site in that casino because they have always been full when we are in the Minneapolis area. We do like to stay in casinos on travel days, though.
I’ve camp at a casino in Montana that had electricity. It was a nice small casino that was first come. I bought lunch there and gambled for 1 hour and won 60.00. I’m not much of a gambler but that was a requirement to camp free.
We like to stay under 250 miles sometimes it doesn't work out that way. We have stayed in a few casinos free and paid lots. We have utilized some of the Love's RV stops. Amelia (cat) sleeps pretty much on travel days. Who don't like free. Love route 66 especially some of the old sections. We love travel days that are dry and cool. Love meeting friends on the road especially when it's unplanned. Thanks for sharing you two.
We recently stayed at Pearl River RV Park across the street from the Casino on the Choctaw Indian Reservation just outside Philadelphia Mississippi. 44 FHU concert sites with gravel streets, I think the rate was app. $60. Very quite. We did not visit the casino. There was also a huge parking lot at the casino where we saw some RV Boondocking and some 18 wheelers. Philadelphia Mississippi is the hometown of Marty Stuart.
If you are going to do a route 66 travel Vlog, I highly recommend you spend at least one episode, exploring the fudge factory in Uranus, Missouri. You won’t regret it
@ there are a number of puns and double entendres all over the place there. They will pack your fudge and grab your nuts with a smile on your face. The sugar free fudge is rather good.
You should check out seven feathers in canyonville Oregon, it's a casino with rv parking. We have stayed there in the past, it also has a shuttle, and nearby gas station
@rvamericayall your welcome, we used to go yearly or sometimes up 4 times in a year. If you do decide to go go to the players club card area in the casino and sign up for their club card, it has discounts on all kinds of things, and if you gamble, those rewards add up quicker. But we found a lot more fun just exploring the area and occasionally a bit of gambling. There rv places have full hook up with 30 amp or 50 amp hook ups, plus a place for laundry, restrooms complete with shower. And they offer a shuttle service too, but I loved the fact that this casino is in the mountains.
curious how much per mile or day it costs to drive a rv and live in. Including depreciation. Would hotel perks be much better? Or maybe we should have a few food stops and put EVERYONE in a rv ....kind of like used all that concrete in opposite way
We live close to there so been to casino but never RV. That used to also be Passport America so can get a few nights half off. For OTR drivers Buffalo Run close to there is also good but not much for RVs
Living on the west coast and traveling to Indiana to visit relatives, we always make use of casinos for overnite stays while traveling on the road...They are one of our go to's for sure along with COE campgrounds...Free parking, usually descent food if desired, and sometimes some pretty good free entertainment can be had when casino camping....We do the exact same thing when visiting the kids in Oregon...We casino camp going to Portland from the bay area, and then down the Oregon coast to visit more relatives and stay at more casinos...Two more casino stops in Calif. on Hwy 101 before we make it home...I dont gamble much as its the wifes thing...I head to the sports bar if available...Needless to say, we have more casino cards to our names than the Pope got prayers....I will not pay any casino just to stay in a parking lot....I have dumped a couple different locations we used to use for that reason....Hey, we are already spending money in your place, i aint paying to park there on top of that period...You folks stayed at casinos with RV parks, we usually stay at those that dont unless we need showers...Travel safe, be well...
Casino camping is certainly different west of the Mississippi River. Eastern US not so much and the ones that available are not easily accessible or convenient while traveling the interstates.
Hey y'all! Happy Sunday!! Have you RV camped at a casino before? How has it worked out for you? Do you have favorite casino RV stops? Please share them in the comments. Thanks for watching!
the casino I live near says you have to have a full kitchen and a full bathroom to stay in their parking lot!!
I’m an OTR truck driver and I stay at Casinos because they have security, showers, and food.
Very good point! Thanks 😊
Showere?
We didn’t see any showers?
@@jesib7526 depends on the casino. I know of at least one in Oklahoma that does.

Wonderful video! Great information . Also, especially if you win! Beautiful RV and jeep! Happy Camping 😊
Wow Choctaw is very nice! We need to do it sometime. Love your jacket, Stacie! Thanks for sharing

That’s really cool, it’s not about the gambling for us as well!
We stayed there in September on our trip from St Louis back to Texas. Clean, Safe and good power. They were really friendly in the store.

LOVES is my favorite! IThose big rigs feel like guard dogs to me - I always feel super safe.....I always travel with multiuple (big) dogs too.
Thanks for the video
Aww, Route 66 is on my bucket list! Would love to get a couple girlfriends in a convertable with the radio on and top down!! 😃🤗
A great video! Thanks for posting!

Thanks Denise, hopefully we get to see ya this year! 😊
Great info! We are always looking for decent overnight spots between our longer-stay destinations.
35.00 a night !! Awesome ❤❤❤❤
😊
We love casino camping while traveling. They are well lit and security is amazing.
💯

Thanks for the extra tips! The buffet was really good & well priced! 😊

Another great video, keep heading south the weather is warm and sunny south of houston, safe travel guys

We stay around 200 miles when traveling. Makes the day very manageable.
always wanted to try camping at a casino, this video made me more confident in doing so! Were not gamblers but it would be a cool experience
We live in Durant Oklahoma hope you had a good time
the sights are great and the staff is very friendly
Yep 👍🏻
Have never stayed at a casino…might have to give it a try! Thanks for the info!
You’re welcome ☺️

Ive stayed many nights at the first casino they have a bus to pick you up and take you to the casino great for truck driver's
Enjoyed watching yall's traveling video😊
Thanks 😊
I have that same too shirt, got it at crazy horse.
Love choctaw casino!!
On I-40 from Flagstaff back home to Houston. Stayed at a cute campground on Route 66 in Flagstaff. Woody Mountain campground. Highly recommend!
Thanks for the recommendation! 😊
I believe those RV parks at Loves are called Loves RV Stops. The app will show them.
Some casinos won't let you stay if you have a dog
Perfect ! As it should be.
Depending which parking lot you stay in that casino west of Joplin you are either staying in Missouri or Kansas. While the casino is in Oklahoma
At Downstream, they do have electric hookups in the Kansas part of the parking lot, just not water.
OK, thanks for the input, we couldn’t see that from the road!
awesome
Rver TV just did route 66 this last summer. Russ has a van converted into a rv. Check him out. He hangs out in Quartsite in the winter.
Thanks for the info! 😊
We heard about Scott and Deb's little trick up their sleeves. Glad they were able to pull it off. ha
It was a great surprise 😳
Good video 😊 safe travels
Thanks 😊
we enjoy this park a lot
We did too! 😊

You left with money, even better!
We just overnight parked at Choctaw-Pocola Casino. Great experience, but no winnings😢
I get it, unfortunately we don’t always win! 🥇
There is a small road you drive down on the way to the casino that goes to the Tri-Point be in 3 states at once.
We love stopping at casinos that have RV overnight parking accommodations too.
They are really growing on us! 😊

@@rvamericayall we are both in Texas. We are here till March. Currently El Paso. In Nov we will head to the Big Bend area. After Xmas Weslaco.

There's good free campsites in national forest, just north of Biloxi, and all the casinos there.
we should be getting our rig back after our blow out last month safe travels

@lisadarington6835 wow 🤩 this sounds really good!
We use to stay at the Black Diamond RV Park in Shreveport which was only $35.00 a night. They have since closed.
Thanks for letting us know, that’s a shame they closed it!
It’s funny Choctaw Durant will comp me a hotel room but won’t do the RV park. But it was a KOA last time we stayed
Yep, that might be different now! 🤷♂️
we had a lot of fun on rt 66 we can talk about it this winter
Sounds great, see ya soon!

Cool 😎
The building you passed under used to be a McDonalds.
Wow, that’s cool! 😎
We would like to do a Rt 66 trip too, looking for one map that shows all of the route from coast to coast, any ideas?
Sorry, we haven’t researched it yet but if we do we will let everyone know!
@@rvamericayall Thank you!
What's up guys? Have you given up on your TH-cam channel?
No, thanks for checking in. We have just been taking a break, focusing on health & family. Recharging the batteries to come back stronger. 😊

We did! 😊 🙌🏻
Apparently true Oklahomans call it “Doo rant”. I think you pronounced it correctly, without overemphasizing the “doo” part the way the locals do. 😉🤭
Glad for that! 😊
The first site you taught yourselves a valuable lesson-check the power BEFORE you get all situated. 😉
💯 😂
Do you need your passports to drive thru the indian nations that you mentioned?
Nope, not at all, it’s all America 🇺🇸! 🙌🏻
I stay at them when I am in my camper going from point a to point B if it’s more than a one day trip
Is your rig a gas engine?
Nope, its diesel
What do they charge to park?
$51 and free
OKLAHOMA is OK !!!!
😊
ya didn't tell us how much it cost?
Sorry, our bad, it was about $51 per night!
Kind of lost my taste for rving RV parks cost so much and repairs are so bad I can travel internationally for a lot less
So are you done RVing? Our repairs haven’t been too bad but I’m sure the older the RV gets the more maintenance it will need!
Please put the camera on the road more often,we don’t need to see you to hear you.
If i were rich enough to gamble my money away i wouldn’t need to find free camping
We hardly gamble at all! 😂
we should be getting our rig back after our blow out last month safe travels
Wow, didn’t know about that! Hope it’s soon!
