      @@CoderFoundry I took the exam assessment online at Coder Foundry website. I am curious where I can get the answer as I think I know where I am wrong. I got 40/50 so am excited! However, my husband is not with the idea I go to North Carolina to take a bootcamp (I live in Seattle) so I am going to wait for an online one if you will eventually offer one . I know you don't really like the idea of an online basing on what I have seen in your past videos. But I think you should reconsider :) I like your contents and delivery. Really logical and not hyped up.

    Which languages would u recommend to learn first, Python, javascript?

  • @ВладБ-з8л

    juniors are no longer needed
    to become middle, it will take 2 years to land your first job
    you will have to learn at least 5 hours a day
    this is the reality today

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We see people get jobs all the time after our bootcamp. Our bootcamp is 8 hours a day for 12 weeks. So it's not easy but people get jobs all the time. Companies are hiring jr roles every day in the US. The reality is if you can learn to code whether a bootcamp or college or online. If you demonstrate that skill in an interview you will get hired. I recommend having a portfolio of business projects.

    It may be the case that coding jobs are in demand, but even if you have decent skills it doesn't necessarily mean you'll get hired.
    What are the chances that employers are willing to hire someone who is 40 years old with no CS degree and no relevant I.T. work experience? If an employer has the choice to hire the above applicant or hire someone with a similar skillset but is in his 20's and has a CS degree, the vast majority of the time the employer will go with the latter applicant. This is the main reason why I don't want to get my hopes up even though I've been learning to code the past few months.

    • @CoderFoundry

      Well.. I can sum it up for you. First learn to code in an in demand stack. Second build a portfolio with biz projects. Third learn to demo and talk about the projects at deep technical level. Show the projects to every recruiter and get them to help with your job search. Take every interview and show the portfolio and demo the projects. Repeat until you land a job. Take side work during this period keep coding and keep learning. There are so many openings you will eventually land. 40 is not old.

      If you want I would willing to setup a call if you want to discuss what you are doing. Call in and the team will setup a call to see if I can help you out. No sales just advice. If you think I can help.

      @@CoderFoundry Thanks very much for your advice, I appreciate it.
      I looked at your website, I'm in Canada so your program isn't an option for you. You should consider adding some kind of distance-coaching service to your company, I think having some kind of personal coding coach would help me a lot, and I imagine there would be quite a bit of demand for such a service. There are likely a lot of people like me who are learning to code but would greatly benefit from the structured teaching that an online coach could provide.
      Thank you again for the advice.

      @@CoderFoundry that's a really kind gesture! I am 41 with approx 15-17yrs of IT job experience (mainly sysadmin, devops, tech support). I just start to learn code again (use to study coding in high school and college some) because I see the high demand in my country too and also want to change my career. I give myself a year and let's see. Thankfully have some friends to mentor me (they're senior developers). Anyway just wanted to say its good to see you care. Also hope 40+ not old if you know the job..

    • @CoderFoundry
      @CoderFoundry  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are not available online, Karim. Our "immersive learning" teaching style puts you in a workplace simulation so you can learn rapidly. That can't be replicated online, unfortunately.
