How is NX reverse engineering feature for bringing in scans and being able to convert them to a solid or surface model I can export out to say Mastercam? I took a job at a small machine shop the bought an Hexgon Absolute Arm and they really didn’t get anyway of converting it to a model. Polyworks Modeler/Inspector is what they have and we basically have to try and clean up the model as best we can and make NURBS patches to cut stamping die contours / molds and then redraw it in another cad package from hand sketches with dimensions to holes etc.. I have looked at about every cad package out there that says it will do it (Design X, Creo, NX, Solid Edge, Space Claim and others) but looking for a professional opinion on maybe what to look for in the capabilities of the software that will be used for also designing solid parts and surfaces. A lot to ask but any suggestions would be nice.
Could this 3d scanner be used in the automotive industry? For example car interior parts, car mats, seat covers etc? I have friend who use the artec eva but it is much more expensive.

I will soon be doing some car parts. And yes, you can easily scan car parts with it.
