If you want to do a solid color tie, opt for something with more texture. Solid colors in satins or matte flat fabrics almost universally look like part of a rental set. (Yes, you can get nice satin or faille ties from like Charvet, but unless that's in your budget, go with something textured.)
Recently saw Thomas Brodie-Sangster's wedding suit and that's definitely the best wedding outfit I've ever seen! He looks straight out of a fantasy novel! Love a well dressed man🥰

Having the groom in burgundy is smart because there’s probably going to be a lot of quests in black or navy suits and he would just blend in. Burgundy on the other hand is an uncommon suit colour so it’s unlikely anyone else would even own one in that colour so he can stand out and feel special. I’ve always thought it was strange when the groom just wears a standard black suit or wears the exact same thing as the groomsman. It’s his wedding and he can wear what he likes but I’d have thought a groom would want to stand out.
Really cool logic behind having the groomsmen opt for Navy suits to get more mileage than they would from a burgundy suit. That's love!
And unlike bridesmaids, the groomsmen may actually wear those suits again lol.
