Thanks so much for this video! It really lets you see exactly how each of these systems performs in real time. I was considering the Retroid Flip, but seeing it struggle so much has made me go back to probably getting the RG405
I agree I have played 25 ps2 games and they all run perfectly with the proper settings on the emulator. The only thing the 405m needs is a cooling fan or something because it gets heated on ps2.
@@BigRetroStudio I only play the older systems upto PS 1 and some PSP, so it's really the clamshell and protecting the screen and the reduced size that I like about it. Plus the fact of setting up an Android device, which is something different for me (Yes I have watched your video, LOL), but mainly can just throw it in whatever and not worry about the screen , just like I did with the NDS XL.
@@BigRetroStudio Oh forgot to say, Subbed and liked. I guess it's just personal for what purpose you want a device for, mine is just ease of portability, otherwise it would be my Steam deck. I agree if buying a retro handheld for the first time a 405M or a Pocket 3+ would be a great choice if you have the budget and depending what you actually want to emulate. The market for retro handhelds over the past 12/18 months has gone crazy, so many choices depending once again on what you actually want to emulate. Horses for courses. Just buy what you will be happy emulating up to and have the budget for.
Thanks, I have mentioned the names of these devices on the name of the video itself, I'd recommend watching my "best t618 handhelds" video to see a comparison between 5 similar handhelds.
The Retroid Pocket 2 is still my favorite form factor because the thumbs rest much more comfortably but I prefer the joysticks to be on the same level like in the PlayStation.
I used the already installed version for rg405m and rpf. The x18 had the latest version but didn't have any impact having the latest version. The overall best performance was still on the rg405m.
Great video! I'm really torn between getting the retroid pocket 3+ and the Powkiddy X28. Did you get the dpad and joystick issues Russ from Retro game corps alluded to on the X28? It looks like a great handheld and I'm leaning towards it.
[Edited] Hey thanks 😊 I saw Russ's video now and those things which he mentioned doesn't bother me much as a player. I can still manage to win the games he mentioned.

Choose wisely 😌 hope you made the right decision 👍🏻
Easy win for the rg405m. Native PS2 screen aspect ratio @ 4:3, Native PS2 resolution @ 640x480. Literally pixel perfect.
💯 🔥

4:3 screen emulation. 405M is the best out there
You got that right 👍🏻 💯 😎
Nel 16:9 es la mas chida
I have the 405m, I absolutely LOVE it!
RG405M looks great for the 4:3, I already have a 503, but I really love a clamshell.
Cool 😎 even I like the clamshell design, but to be honest, performance-based after doing this test, I think rg405m came 1st, X28 2nd, and RPF 3rd

For that purpose, I agree that the RPF would be a perfect choice 😊

Great video, was wondering of all those devices which one you feel comfortable while playing games?

The 405m really looks amazing !
It sure is! ✨️
@@BigRetroStudiois the rg505 better?
I’m in a struggle between the 405 and x28. Which feels smooth and has a better picture in person?
Screen and resolution-wise, x28 is better.

🙂👍🏻
The upcoming *Retroid Pocket 2S* might be your ultimate version!
The 3+ & Flip have a better chip though.
Did you use the already installed aethersx2 or the latest version? Just curious.

@@BigRetroStudio thanks so much. Just got yourself a new subscriber.
I need help, rg405v/m or Retroid flip?
Only depends on what form factor you prefer.
Great video I'm going to like that red one and no it's not because the fact that it is my favorite colour
Then it should be because you like clamshell handhelds 💯🙌🏼
