Enjoyed the video. Two points -
A) the curry in MTR called तरकारी सागु. तरकारी = vegetables and सागु = curry
B) खाराभात doesn’t have to be salty. खारा in Kannada means savoury like तिखट शीरा in Marathi.

The breakfast u had is just awesome ....these are typbreak healthy breakfast of karnataka ....u will find good dosa and idli in any corner of karnataka ...so try in some other places of karnataka ....u will enjoy it ...😋😋

In south I felt idli are like clouds so soft....n the chutney so fresh....
The green gravy with the ragi dosai at MTR is 'Tarkaari saagu' (including the Kannada accent/pronunciation ) 😊

'Khara' actually means spicy in Kannada. So Khara Baath is 'spicy upma'
Yes, it's spicy bhaat. Not salty bhaat. Khaara is not the Khaara in Hindi.

Tazza thindi is my favourite breakfast joint...I have it on every weekend...u can top up on the chutney as many times as u want...u missed going to vidyarthi bhavan for breakfast

That's Sagu...a Karnataka speciality. It's a gravy based vegetable curry. It's not a subzi though. 😋😍👌🙏👍

Originally sambhar is only slightly sweet but more spicy but it coming to Mumbai made it sweeter

Kesari bhath is made up of regular wheat sooji which is very fine. Creamy gravy you had is correctly called 'tarakari sagu' which means vegetable gravy.

You should try upahara dharshini...it's wonderful restaurant for South Indian dishes, actually it's one of my fav place for lunch. If u wanna taste real south indian platter then add in ur list. U won't regret and that too at very reasonable price. 🙂
I suggest u to go to fanoos and siddiqi hotel in Richmond town Bangalore because they have very tasty non vegetarian rolls and roaster nonveg

I too have been to Brahmins Coffee Bar in Bangalore, and I agree it’s not as great as people rave about, it’s Upma is definitely good, but the rest I feel is hyped up.
Very nice vlog and mouth watering and the sabzi you had with ragi dosa is called sago...in Karnataka many place you get sago instead of sambhar 😊

That's right. Saagu or sagu is a karnataka style curry with a coconut milk base. since it had so many different vegetables, it is called tarkari sagu. i have been planning on visiting bengaluru. how was your experience of conversing with the locals? do they speak hindi?

Usually Saagu is served with Poori.. here this is served with Dosa which is lill strange ... but yes good taste though

Pune does not have any real South Indian outlet ... Anna Idli is good ... other udupi outlets like Vaishali et al are not at all south indian food... I hope one day A2B or Saravana Bhavan comes to Pune ...
