was a store manager once and we do kind of rush callers a bit for the sole purpose of keeping the line open for emergencies or if we're expecting a particular call at the time that you may have been calling. But most managers I have worked with usually try their best to address problems or issues brought up.

@@nvcn86 You must be young. xP People don't see "youtubers" as anything trustworthy. It's like if someone tells you "Hi. I use facebook and warn my friends about scammers." None of that makes me sound trustworthy. You don't know me, or the people who follow me. I could be pulling a prank.
You might ask me: "How do you know an elderly lady is going to come here soon."
Then I'd have to explain how I hacked into a scammers telephone call.
Now you shouldn't trust me at all, because you would either think: "Think this guy could be hacking me!" or "'Hacker' my ass. You're just trying to look cool, aren't you?"
Even after this, if I was in their shoes, I'd still say: "Yeah, sure, sounds great. I'll keep an eye open, whatever. Good luck with your videos." And I'd be slightly annoyed it wasn't a customer, and I definitely don't want people calling that phone when a customer is trying to call.
Know that most grown-ups and elderly still don't have the slightest idea how hacking works. So just by phoning them and telling them you're a hacker might make them think that you somehow hacked their telephone. "Get out of my telephone!" xD
But I know how you feel. In the past I never understood how the truth could leave people suspicious.
And even though he is a private investigator, I agree that it doesn't sound reassuring either. It just means "a person who investigates things for themselves". Could be a dude in a tinfoil hat who believes in aliens, thinking they're on the heels of an alien trying to scam humans.

@@pineappleparty1624 I don't know why more places don't have training for it. I used to work in a large store with attached auto center. Even as an auto mechanic because I was expected to know how to run the register I had to take the scam training. Anyone asking for multiple cards or with a total value over $250 was supposed to raise a red flag. I know in a lot of these videos they are always pushing for thousands in cards from a single store, but you'll get people coming in wanting 3 $200 cards for google play, or walmart, even Xbox and PlayStation. After you see a couple people (usually pointed out by more experienced employees) in the process of trying to buy cards for scammers, it become readily apparent when someone is being scammed. There is almost always a certain look of panic and urgency on their face. That red flag goes up 10x if they are on the phone while trying to checkout.
The sad part is, most of the time when you try to ask questions about who they are for, why they are buying this much, if they want another card instead because it's better, etc. they get defensive and sometimes angry. These people buying these cards are almost always terrified because of the threats from the scammers, so much so that all rational thinking goes out the window.

They uphold education as supreme and so many who work at these call centres may have a superior education to the masses they live above, projecting that on to the westerners as inferior.
In addition they have a chip on their shoulder holding the Britishers/West as responsible for stealing their wealth. Politicians use this narrative to this day to avert blame for their corruption.

The female scammers upset me the worst. Maybe it has something to do with being a woman myself, but it absolutely boils my blood hearing them preying on innocent people using their sickly sweet, innocent young lady voices. And then, the instant they think things aren't going their way, the way they drop the innocent and helpful act and sound like the monsters they really are.

I think you hating the female scammer the most doesn't really have anything to do with you also being female, but instead because of her stuck-up attitude. Acting like her "customer" was beneath her and not worth her time.
The way she acted was like she thought she was the one having to go out of her way to help a person that didn't deserve it. Like the victim wasn't showing enough apreciation for the hard work she was doing.
The way she wasn't even trying to act like a proper support employee and just started making annoying noises the moment things didn't go exactly her way.
And this was all even before she was shouting at a crying cripple person to run out of a store she told her to go to in the first place.
I can't imagine that women being pleasant to be around in any situation.

The noises the scammer make and how quickly she gets impatient and frustrated makes me believe she's working high on coke or a similar substance. Just so rude and annoying for someone it's supposed to sound convincing (better of this way I guess, as they make the victims suspect something's going on)

She could have ate some Betel leaf. It's quite potent and it's common and cheap in India. I'm not even sure if it's prohibited.

Poor woman, I felt so bad when she had to sit due to pain, and then how she started crying when the manager stopped her.. I think about something like that happening to my grandma and it's just hearbreaking. I cannot believe these scammers are human beings, they deserve the worst of the worst.

My heart was pounding like this was being done to my granny. These people doesn't care about what someone is going through, the lady almost got a heart-attack but still the scammer pushed her to the limit. Everyone should inform their elderly members of their families and friend to not fall into this nonsense.

If I heard and recall well from the narration the old lady has over $24,000 in depleted gift carts. She should not be spending her money gifting others or being scammed. Scambaiter foiled this one, but how is she protected from the next call as they have her number and have been sulking her hard earned money previously? The store manager sank all our hearts by being dismissive on both warning calls. Yet she then rose to the occasion suddenly. Kudos to her!

Are all of these operations so poorly misconfigured that you're able to gain this kind of access so readily? Or have you researched vulnerabilities on your own time to enable this kind of recon? Its extremely impressive.

They aren't computer experts by any means, the only training they get is how to scam, somebody who knows what they are doing can easily gain their information with some time on their hands. Nothing he's doing is actually that hard to do if you have those skills and understanding of how computers and networks function. A lot of these people use remote access to get access to people's files and damage computers to get money out of them but remote access works both ways, they are actually making it very easy for him to access their computers where they look on Facebook and have tons of identifying information lying around.

Many might have security measures in place that crumble the instance the employees are allowed to take their laptops home.
Like say they usually use a VPN to create an encrypted connection. But then once they're in their own homes, they might be tempted to turn off the VPN because they get tired of it making the connection seem slow. Or maybe it just has an annoying connection sound on start up. I've seen people do a lot of stupid shit to their computers when left to their own devices, and I'm a software developer, so I can't even imagine what the guys in support must've witnessed.

I just became a Patreon. After seeing how hilarious the tiers were, I’m even more glad that I did it. Your videos are so unique compared to other scambait videos and especially satisfying to listen in to their unfiltered panic as they process what you’ve done to them after they hang up. I am a fan of #1 Russian Hacker.

It's so depressing that despite nuking their infrastructure they can be back up and running in 24hrs or less. The only kill a computer dead thing I know about was the old zombieload exploit on intel chipsets, but even then you need physical access to the box. If anyone needs to have all their hardware destroyed, it's people that try to scam and make 88 year old women cry.

Sometimes you can try to rewrite the bios by flashing random firmwares to it if you can with the OS running (some builds have a tool for this). It won’t boot after that if you intentionally botch it.
