    My grandfather...Henry Agustus Gorden-French retired from Trinidad Railways around 1928 after 36 years of service. I believe he trained the Junior men and drove the "passenger" trains.

      +Sherwyn Bailey Hello Sherwyn, I'm very pleased the video brought back memories of the Caroni railway. To answer your question I do have other videos on my TH-cam site, look for Trinidad Railway History which is three parts and of course the other three parts of Trinidad's lost Railways.

      bighornize, thanks for commenting. Can you tell me why D8 was changed to D9 and also, do you know what happened to D9, D12 and D14? In 2005 the three engines stored behind the cane truck maintenance shed were taken away. Do you know where these locos went?

    But why did they stopped the trains? is it that parts and stuff were hard to find for them?

    • @Kris-qy7hh
      @Kris-qy7hh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not necessarily that, I believed they stopped the railways because they were uneconomical, and in the case of Caroni, possibly because the company, Caroni 1975 LTD. was due to shut down soon.

    Glen @ 8:02 in the vid where was that ? You think it's still there I would love to go see it

    • @galbeadon
      @galbeadon  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jezey07 the scene in 8:02 is the point where the line split into a junction between Monkey town and Debe. The small box was called Monkey town box. Sadly, this is all gone now. I was last there in 2012 and nothing remains.

    I want my homeland that raped us on and still do to at least have a road like theirs cctv police and army, politicians that aren’t corrupt inside out and much much more time to wake up economic development in the Caribbean islands
