this is the episode that helped me reconcile with my own father, this show has helped me grow more comfortable with my own character that can only compared to Adrian Monk. i can go on with things i was afraid of or the second guessings that lead me through life but because of this show, it laid a foundation for me to start being more explorative and stoic, just like monk. thank you to the creators, writers and Tony for being one of the bigger parts of my life.
The audacity of Jack to ask for Monk’s forgiveness.😑 I’m glad Monk and his dad had some semblance of reconciliation, but I still felt bad for Monk for a good chunk of the episode.😢
Favorite moments from this episode Monk grabbing jacks hand and not using a wipe after After jack says he was sorry and didn’t know he had a son to be proud of in San Francisco and after that monk called him dad 🥹
I don’t know why the guy just pretended to arrive and find the body, the guy clearly got his tie stuck by accident, just pretend you were too late to save him
"Guilty knowledge." He figured that he'd slip up somehow. Plus, he said that he went fishing. Why would he need to wipe the previous 5,000 miles for fishing? Adrian and Jack would then ask why he'd given them scenic routes to here and there.
Big truck with brake line cut…. Wouldn’t leak fluid…. And would apply the brake not disable. It takes brake “air” to release…. So a leak wouldn’t allow this to happen.
Before someone said "it's just a TV show" I'm gonna say thank you for the explanation. I know they make it for TV suspense. At least now I know a bit about it ❤
In this particular episode if I remember. The reason the two guys were arguing in the first place was the guy had been using old parts/random parts from other vehicles on the trucks while pocketing the extra money and reporting extra expenses in the accounting books. This made the company liable to Safety regulators and the IRS. So a brakeline "disconnecting" from hydrolics could be another substandard "repair" on the truck
Jack keeps asking Monk to call him "Dad," especially from 9:04, where he asks very poignantly twice. But just a few moments earlier, Adrian DID call him Dad! Hear it at 8:42 -- "Dad, there is! There's another runoff!"
i know 😂.Jerry Levine is actually a sometimes actor .he appeared on monk as the senator wanna be dating sharona .he was in teen Wolf with Michael j Fox .
8:51 -- I'm sure this was intentional by the writers to add even more humor, but that is the most pathetic, inadequate runaway truck ramp ever. Not only are the four barrels totally inadequate for the task of slowing the truck down, but the path, instead of leading to an upward slope (which is usual, thus the term "runaway truck RAMP"), leads to big, solid rocks to crash into!
I feel like he could of easily gotten away with it if he just said what happened but when his partner was checking the truck, he got really mad and had to take a walk. Cuz he didn't end the guy. He just didn't save him. So why not just say you were there but not next to him when it happened?
Glazer's partner realized that he was using recycled truck parts but recording them as new, and pocketing the difference. Basically Glazer was embezzling from his own company. Its immoral, illegal, plus those bad truck parts put their drivers at risk. The partner had proof so Glazer had to kill him. And also, thats why the brakes went out on Jack and Adrian toward the end, because of the bad truck parts.
Yeah I hate this episode. Class 8 trucks like the ones he has have air brakes. They don't use hydraulic brakes. Its super uncommon. Loss of air pressure would result in the parking spring brake being set because no air pressure is compressing it.
life without Christianity would be a life without murder. a beautiful world lost because so many people need to lie to their kids about some fat guy sneaking into their chimney.
I wish we had a case involving Jack, Ambrose and Monk together.
Plus junior
A complete Family reunion
That case would be solved in seconds though…

This is an amazing comment.
I am so glad that the show, and character of Monk has helped you so much!🙂
That's beautiful
💪 rock on!
Happy for you. It really was an excellent T.V show in it's time
It's sad how he abandoned his family and didn't cared about them..
Men
I never noticed until this episode that Dan Hedaya and Tony Shalhoub look astonishingly similar.
That is why Dsn was chosen for the role obviously.
The audacity of Jack to ask for Monk’s forgiveness.😑

Wow so this is the legendary father who walked out on them
"This man looks like your mother"😅
😅😅😅

Jack: Excuse my language.
Monk: It's OK, I'm a trucker.
😂
like the end scene, where his dad teaches to ride a bike:)

Probably because he didn't want the cops finding out he used recycled truck parts
Funny how I watched this same episode just last night and then got this surprise soon after!
Great Casting! hands down.
A great “Christmas” episode. Haha
I've seen every episode of monk and I heard they just made a movie just go to done watching them all over again lol
Adrian's mother is Buffalo Bill.

@@santointrigila2516on a American Peterbilt…. Its air brakes. Always air brakes.

The dude in the white cowboy hat walked by the truck twice. 10:03
I know, I know... the parking brake or down-shifting wouldn't make for exciting TV.
0:51 thought the director was any related to Ted Levine....😅
i know 😂.Jerry Levine is actually a sometimes actor .he appeared on monk as the senator wanna be dating sharona .he was in teen Wolf with Michael j Fox .

Don’t be such a party pooper with facts, we were thrilled about the reuniting of Monk and his dad. 😂

The actor playing Jack & Tony Shaloub were in a film together "A Civil Action"
Where’s Ambrose?
Ben Glazer was too sloppy and cheap. That's why he got caught, he didn't think to get rid of the neck tie in the engine.
That WAS NOT a truck runoff. 😂
Yes, it was. It was the world's most pathetic truck runoff.
What I can't figure out is how the truck stopped without even reaching the barrels.
