Thanks for showing. I have straight rails on my 891 and have mixed experiences. While they’re great regarding protection and also looking very professional I now have to look for a bigger hardcase for transportation 😁 as the tx with rails doesn’t fit into the old one any more….
Yeah, adding the rails does add to the size. I was lucky as I could use the hard case I had for my previous portable radio as it was bigger. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
I have these rails too. I thought about getting the Armoloq version but I have my FC-50 tuner connected to the bottom of the rig. You can put the Portable Zeros on the FC-50 too but you have to drill new holes
Thanks for the video. I have an old 706mkiig I use for portable. I really like that radio, but power draw is quite high, and the screen is fading. I'm liking the 891. I see the chinese radios with the kitchen sink built in and really wish yaesu would at least upgrade the 891 with a tuner, adding a sound card would not hurt either.
Maybe in the future as components get smaller we'll see a new version with a tuner and SC. Glad you liked the video, thanks for stopping by and commenting!
Drill and tap for short screws on the non shoulder strap side so you can mount your mic holder vertically. I did this right under the front rail screw. Obviously, you don't want a screw that's too long that will dig into the radio.
Hi, I have the old model for FT-857 in my FT-891, you have the new model with better form 😢 nice video 😅🎉
Great Job!
Thank You :)

I normally don't use a tuner (I use resonant antenna's) so these rails work good for me. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
I have the O.D. Green ones and the power pole mod.
FB, I've got the power pole mod on my wish list! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it!
@@K4FZG I think it's worth installing the power pole mod, it's also not that difficult. Thanks for the demonstration.

Great video 😊
Thanks! Love the aviation videos! Used to fly until I lost my medical. Now I'm limited to part 107.
