On God, that is the best sounding acoustic I've ever heard. I've played everything from Ibanez to Taylor to Martin and back. I own a thin body pre ww2 Gibson. This is my favorite acoustic I've ever heard.
The age of the wood, and the mahogany create the mellow tone. You are right on the sound though.
gibson's acoustic golden era was from 1940-46.

The first is one of my favorite songs, and you did a masterful job. Awesome sound, great job restoring the bridge, Joel!
When you are over 80 and all you need is a little neck work and bridge, you deserve to sing like this instrument
This SJ-100 sounds like the best acoustic guitar ever made of all the history of mankind. Those prewar Gibson were definitely the top of the league, they still are the embodiment of magic.
This is by far the most beautiful sounding guitar ever.
I thought the prewar Martins, were the pinnacle of guitars. That SJ 100, just took that spot. Amazing.
What a gorgeous sounding guitar. Just perfect sound. It's amazing what's left in some of these vintage acoustics...almost 80 years old and still singing beautifully.
You can see Mark totally get in the zone when he really likes a guitar. It must spoil a guy to play amazing vintage guitars every day. It must take really special ones to put him in that place.
I spent half an hour trying to find this vid again. Mark and Gibson. Gonna be great!!
I listen to that with a headset on. I must say that fingerstyle fat is probably the most beautiful sounding guitar I've ever heard. I've had the honor of playing many many guitars over my years some dating back to 1934. That one has a sound that is phenomenal to say the least. Whoever winds up owning this piece of American history will be a person that is blessed.

These from the mid 30s to the mid 40s are incredible sounding instruments!great demo mark!
This guy shows these acoustic guitars off better than anyone on TH-cam,all those guys with the long hair n beards like some extra out of Canned heat can clearly play but none of em hit the strings like this guy.

For all that was done to it , it sounds great . When you were finger picking , sounded like it had its own reverb built in , LOL .Kudos to your Luthier did a great job bring back to life a Great American Historical Guitar

I luv that sound , especially on that first song , that low E just makes my ceiling fan rattle , rad. Those pre war Gibby's just sound so phenominal , something to be said about 80 year old mahogany. Happy flat top Friday.

My favorite acoustic guitar is an SJ-200, but an SJ-100 is e very bit as good as an SJ-200. If I ever came across a left-handed one, I would grab it in a heartbeat!

I am a new subscriber wow you really connected with that guitar. I’ve owned a couple of super jumbo‘s contemporary ones from 2005 I think 2006 cutaways with the super 400 neck from the custom shop. They never had the tone of that cannon.
