What is the average amount required to be reflected on your bank statement before getting an I-20 form?

Unless you have some type of scholarship to make it equal to the estimated amount or the school does not require proof of funds before admission, I doubt it. Regardless, you need the full proof of funds before an i20 can be issued.

If a school requires it before one can be considered for admission, I believe you’re expected to provide it or they won’t review your application. If one can’t, then they should consider other schools that don’t require it for admission consideration.

Yes, as long as the funding is equal to or over the amount the school requires you to show.
