you are the first one I see here on TH-cam who knows that the food in the can is pasteurized, only a few people seem to know that ( which is surprising )

Ya I learned that years ago when I first got into canning. It blows my mind how many people are scared of the liners UNLESS it’s a full boil. Putting the can next to the fire to get the food roughly 150-160 degrees isn’t going to shed any of the liner from the can. Technically in order to make it safe they have to boil it in the canning process at 212 degrees. So those liners are good till at least then. I would worry about drinking boiled water out of the tin, because of the direct heat is on the liner, then ya it might get that shit in there. An idea I’ve been playing around with is absolutely sinjing the can so the entire liner is gone. Cooking tin as a vessel is completely fine, it’s just the liner that dumps those microplastics

I always wanted to fill one can and seal it with my own stuff.

I'd like to see a serious overnight kit that I (a under five foot female whos a bit doddery these days) could carry in my handbag. Thanks for the video.

I will end up putting together what I think is a solid version of this. Size, efficiency, and effectiveness all matter.

Honestly, learn some simple Bushcraft and basic survival. On the most basic, a good pocket knife, some survival Paracord, and a lighter will get you out of most anything.

Also, also, keep water in your... Well, anywhere. Couple bottles in the trunk, a collapsible container in your bag, pocket filters (one in the car, one in the bag), ziploc bags, and so on.

@@dramspringfeald bush crafting is cool, but I try to look at it from a realistic standpoint. People that don’t carry a water filter or canteen or water bottle while out in the woods blow my mind. I try to keep it as realistic as possible in terms of scenarios. The jump from surviving for a night and living off grid is a huge skill gap. I would know, I did it. I think people fantasize about survival in some kind of apocalyptic way. I attempted to do a series if you check my videos if that exact scenario in a cinematic way. The reality is I couldn’t even video all of the stuff I’d have to do in case of a true grid down scenario. The only group that I’m aware of that likely could is the Amish. Even then I question it because they do still purchase modern products to make old products.
