Each to their own - as a Wicked purist, this film should've been the length of that video, without a part two film but instead with a 15 minute intermission. We can explore the backstories covered in both Wicked film parts in a Netflix docuseries.

@@dukeofrodtown1705 polite no. Film is such a different medium . Establishing a scene alone on film is what 5-10 seconds and then you see how many places this musical makes you believe you go too. My biggest gripe intially with the film is how drawn out defying gravity is but tbh the stage play seem to equally milk it

@@jlchips I could not disagree more on that front. Performances are great - just, who on Earth wants to watch a poorly timed sequel that coincides with university exams and the American Thanksgiving? Also, it's better to cram a little more backstory into the stage version or put the covered backstories into a 10 part series on Netflix. PS: there are many stage Elphabas who deliver more powerful performances than Cynthia Erivo who is great - and Ariana Grande doesn't fit the bill as Glinda IMHO anyway - doesn't have the goosebump-worthy soprano prowess ingredient as Kristin Chenoweth and everybody else after her.
