Hey man, I was in Sardinia 15 years ago with my ex gf, and we spend few days in a vey magical beach where there was like a Hippies camp, it had white round big stones and there was a long path from a near by town to get there, do you know the name? Just been in Sardinia at the end of August and I would go back a million times more. I could definitely live there for a few years... The cliffs of Orosei were unreal as well as the clear water. Also the north was breath taking... We went only for a week and was too short. It'll be a "Next time" for sure 🥰 Sardinia has won a spot in my 💙

I've been all around the western Mediterranean but never to Sardinia. You've shown many reasons to go there. Everything looks so pristine even though there are a lot of boats and people. I thought the Porto Flavia mine was a tiny crusader castle at first. Great tour as usual.
@@RyanShirleyWestern only: Majorca in the Balearic islands; Liguria (Italian Riviera) and Campania around the Bay of Naples; Calabria & Puglia for a quieter part of Italy; Provance up in the hills but not on the coast and even the maritime Alps if you count that.
@@robertpicton1 There are fishes. To the point that the water is so clear that even the port of Cagliari is full of them even with the boats. There are some dolphins too sometimes, that go hunt in the port next to people.
Just came to Cala Gonone following this video. It is just as described. Incredible Sardinia ❤️ Edit: probably worth noting that there is absolutely no facilities in the calas (the little beaches) other than their outstanding beauty so you have to bring a cool box with food and water. Also everything is reachable by boat, so bring your seasick pills and check the trips at the marina, there are trips with more people: with one ticket you can get in several boats, or rent the whole boat. Also Cala Goloritze is a national park, so the entry is restricted: manned boats do not stop, and to reach hiking, it is also restricted to 200 people
Nice video and list! But don't forget our inland is also as beautiful as the coast 😁 Caves and waterfalls, mountains and forests with ancient trees and monuments, we have it all and more!

Absolutely right! I live here and also do some tours and I can confirm that Sardinia is one of the most beautiful places in Europe! But remember that the roads are sometimes very crooked and a trip from North to South will take much longer than you might expect! So calculate more time when traveling with the car to see all those lovely places from the video.
Great job Ryan! As others have mentioned you have covered some of the best sites! Love Bosa and the Maddalena islands and even Palau as a home base. There are lots of Nuragic sites all across the island and should be a stop for anyone. Also, Cagliari is a fun capital city. Another cool place to visit would be ancient Tharros. Great video as always, Ryan. During my short holiday trip several years ago I very much liked the red coastline of Costa Paradiso. The strange rocks of Capo Testa are worth a visit, too.

I’m from Sardina, and while I understand Norberto Bobbio’s comment (we have truly beautiful mountains and towns as well!), these beaches are some of the beast we have. I’m glad you didn’t show very touristy places like the Costa Smeralda, this is probably the best list of beaches recommendation I’ve seen.

@@RyanShirley We're located near Cagliari so going to all the top beaches and hiking trials in South Sardinia. The island is too big to explore in a week imo, but at least it leaves North Sardinia fresh for another trip!
You missed out the south coast (Costa Rei, Villasimius, Mari Pintau, Teulada, Porto Pino, Carlo Forte etc etc.) but hey, next time! There’s a lifetimes worth of discovering the tastes and sights of Sardegna. Really enjoyed your video, keep up the good work.

I'm currently on Sardegna. The number of amazing beaches is unreal but tbh I wouldn't go again. Personally, it lacks architecture, towns and nightlife and if its not a beach, everything is 2-3 hours away. Beautiful island still and great video :)
True. Sardinia should have more entertainment and nightlife in general, but unfortunately, Sardinia has an elderly population thus the lack of it. Sardinia is perfect for families and people passionate about nature and sport! you might want to come back with the kids:)
For those reasons i want to go there..not the typicak european crazy beaches and night noisy places fully of drunks turist ...its depends of perspective and taste.

@@RyanShirley We came from Sardinia. It will be nice if you also add the communication between destinations. The beaches are amazing but the communication is not good for those who can not drive. The communication is not good from Cagliari to the region from where someone can visit Cala Galariza, Cala Sisine, Cala Marilu, etc. . We stayed at Baunei and the taxi to the port was not cheap. The buses are not frequent and never follow time. no sign of a bus station anywhere. Google map was only support

Cala branchini is also beautiful. Its in the north. U have to reservate a spot on the beach. But its soo worth it. Our tour operator called it ‘small tahiti’. I thaught he was overreacting till i eventually saw this place… its gorgeous.

Cala branchini is also beautiful. Its in the north. U have to reservate a spot on the beach. But its soo worth it. Our tour operator called it ‘small tahiti’. I thaught he was overreacting till i eventually saw this place… its gorgeous.

L'Asinara purtroppo si è squalificata rispetto a qualche anno fa a causa di una gestione scellerata dell'Ente Parco, conviene aspettare qualche anno per tornarci, visto che si perde un giorno intero di vacanza e non si può scappare liberamente.

I rented it from Cala Gonone, I don’t remember the name, but just goggle boat rental Cala Gonone and a bunch of rental companies should pop up
