Sounds like Animals As Leaders without so much unnecessary technicality. While AAL is like a strong drink that knocks you on your ass, Halycon goes down much smoother but with the same heat and great taste. This is prog vodka gentleman
This must be why I like it so much. I remember listening to AAL's latest and thinking, "wow, this is great, but it would be amazing if they would slow down just once in a while and change it up a bit"
I just can't stop listening to this album, start to finish, over and over and over! It's absolutely bloody excellent, and you should all go and buy it from his bandcamp (i.e. stop talking about torrenting it and support the guy!)
i would go to the extent of saying its instrumental progressive metal, but not death metal on another note, i think halcyon is one of the greatest bands ever, next to animals as leaders, or scale the summit, they have real potential, and i cant wait to see the new album this upcoming april!
@@meepacheep7186 not too much actually, progressive metal changed my perspective on music back in 2010 and I still listen to it to this day. animals as leaders, scale the summit, and plini all still goated too. me saying he had potential was definitely an understatement looking at how his career has gone so far
Wow. I've been listening to lots of music for years... I came here and I'm totally surprised. Now I understand why it takes so long; you must be prepared.
I just bought this from the website, and am downloading it as I write this. I am very excited about this new (to me) music! Thanks Plini !! Keep up the great work!
This is very much... a nice, jazzy, Dream Theater-esque sound. I really wouldn't be surprised if the guitarist sited John Petrucci as one of his influences. I discovered this band half an hour ago and I've already fallen in love.
I love how your group play heavy, but peaceful. Your awesome drummer is very close to being the drummer I like to hear. He plays heavy, yet peaceful to listen to. He deserves an awesome raise. He is a fine, fine, awesome drummer. He has made your band soar to new heights. Your awesome drum rolls are better than any I have ever heard. I want to know your awesome drummer’s name man. I want to write him personally. Blessed, blessed musician man. I have listened to many drummers and, so far, you are the one I could listen to always. I do hope you know Jesus as your Saviour and Lord ‘cause I want to meet you when we get to Heaven. Your an awesome, well-loved, musician man. Continue your awesome career you have been blessed with! You never know where God will lead you in your musicial career. Awesome musician man. It is an honor and a rare privilege to listen to someone as gifted as you man. God richly bless you dude. He loves you very much man. Take care!! Psalms 139
@forgottencity where did you get it??? I searched all over Amazon and couldn't find it... I even tried to search torrents and didn't get any results :(
Is this really considered "death metal"? I know that is says "instumental", but to say that this is death metal sort of seems like miscategorization. I don't know, maybe my musical knowledge is just lacking.
Still here in 2024.... Incredible stuff!
Just seen Plini performing a few days ago 😄😄
Plini was born to do this.
Good music never gets old
It's amazing finding out how many people truly know music when you look for it.

This is simply some of the best fusion metal I've ever heard. So much groove and them guitar feels!

or pat metheny
Yeah it’s Plini
Yeah and he did talk about John Petrucci
This is mostly one guy. for fans of this stuff, kindly refer either to 'Scale the Summit' or 'Being' (Arrival EP)
Or refer to Plini.
Holy shit intro blew my mind already
I like this style. The farther I dive into music genres the more great things I find :)
Amazing.
By any standard, this is perfect.Ayaz is an eternal song also. This does my head gooooood.
This is toooo good!!
The guitarist of this band is definitely influenced by Jason Becker. Which i love.
Exactly.
Love it! \m/
1:41 that riff sounds like the intro of God's Equation by Pagan's Mind, although it fits way better here
All of you enjoying this beauty, listen to P L I N I
Great! :)

It's programmed drums, Superior Drummer to be specific

creo a mi parecer, es el mejor tema del disco... Genial!
estube buscando una banda como este estilo, pero todavia no encontre ninguna!

man this music is fuckin ausom....
I think I replied to wrong person :) I think someone was saying this was a band back then, 2 months ago.
n00dle.
Can someone give me a tab of it ?
The intro reminded me the beginning of Octavarium
Why hasn't anyone heard this?
@forgottencity where did you get it??? I searched all over Amazon and couldn't find it... I even tried to search torrents and didn't get any results :(
No Dislikes really deserve that :)
Somebody know what VST/Synth he used for the Intro?
oh, my apologies :)
I'm coming from ProgArchives
Bro this is solo project ;)
umm, influences, not the actually people

so who gives a fuck who sounds like who? It's all a method of creativity.
Terribly generic derivative Scale The Summit-esque wankery. Sure it sounds nice, but there are plenty of bands who sound identical to this.
Annoying arpegio at the start: Checked
Melodic crap: Checked
Fredrik Thordendal wannabe solo: Checked
Yep, another shitty Djent band.
+Corpsegrinder Fisher He wrote this EP in highschool, he goes under Plini now :)
+Corpsegrinder Fisher Lol, are you joking? This isn't even remotely Djent.
I don't think you know what Djent actually is...
Have you listened to his new stuff (Plini)
4 years later but Idc 'cause I have to say: Wow what an asshole.
