- Today I turn a round bowl in a triangle of wood composed of different species.
The finish is provided by Carnauba wax.

Not surprising that, almost like a magician waving his wand , another beautiful bowl appears! Only this time the magic has created a round bowl from a Triangle!!!!!! It must be magic, because there’s no other logical conclusion! Lol!! Good job, Morgan as usual, but you’d better keep that Tophat nearby so you can keep pulling bowl bunnies out of it! Lol!

I like it when you use that wide flat tool and put those beautiful smooth curves into the project. Of course watching the evolution between pieces of glued wood to final artwork is fascinating too. Thanks for recording your craftsmanship.

At first I wondered the cutting the the clue and I thought the two types of wood contrast would not work, but I like your projects so I continued watching, and yes I was amazed. I make shelves, book cases (not professionally just hobby) you know cut sand fit together, easy things can't see the bowl or vase inside the wood. That is why it amazes me to see the final project, very beautiful bowl!!

Bravo Morgan pour cette pièce d'une belle harmonie. Je n'ose pas trop me lancer dans le segmenté que je trouve souvent un peu long et délicat à mettre en oeuvre, mais là je trouve que c'est un beau compromis. Une réussite. 👍

Well, I am not an expert, but is there a possibility to have the "walls" of bowls more thinner ( not just like porcellain-cups ..., but thin ) or causes that problems with the wood or the equipment ?

Yes, it is possible to obtain thinner walls, but not with just any wood species.
By cons if you turn green wood in this case you can have low thickness without risk;)

This is a really interesting design and process and I will add it to my try list. It appears that you just polish and wax. Do you do anything else in the finishing process?

For the finish I polish and I wax that's all, on the other hand depending on the woods you have to respect a meticulous sanding cycle.

Process question: Do you imagine the finished project and then work out how to get there, or do you try different mixes of wood and make choices as you go along?

The things that can be done with wood are limited only by skill and imagination.
You sir, have an excess in both.

Something bugging me so ignore if you like.
When you were polishing the outside of the bowl, you sanded and polished with your fingers up so that the wood rotation was from fingers to palm.
I've always felt, and seen sadly, that this was the dangerous option because if something catches, the direction of the wood is forcing your fingers into your hand.
Is there any reason why during this stage of the process you are working fingers up as opposed to fingers down as you did with the inside of the bowl?
