Yeah I hate the nasty faces they pull today trying to look moody and full of attitude, or sticking their tongues out like Jesy Nelson and Miley cyrus. Back then popstars just sang the songs, enjoyed themselves with a bit of dancing and weren't dressing like hookers and the music was better.
What I love about Bananarama is they are always dressed respectful and don't act slutty and their music doesn't need swearing or anything they are just down to earth girls no fancy hair styles or covered in make up they are just being themselves
I just basically said the same thing, before I read your comment. Not like singers this century, or even others in the 20th. They did not have to, because they had talent.🍌
I used to make mix tapes for friends then. The only thing any of them ever asked for was a lot of “Bananarama”. I remember seeing them that year, my friends and I were dancing in the balcony the entire concert.
Oh man I'm in love with these girls, stunningly beautiful every one of them and I loved their style too. They made the 80s amazing. I wish I could have been the boy they were all crazy about. Everyone has a fantasy and these three gems were mine.
In 1985 we performed as The bananaette's on Putting on the hits... wishing i could find the video TH-cam. I lost the Tape. :( We held bananna"s as micro phones ")
It took me a long time to search for the song and years later I found Venus and then I searched more deeply for her songs and what a surprise it took me when I discovered that Cruel Summer was from Bananarama
Ive noticed Sara Dallin wears sunglasses for several of her live performances. Was it the bright lights or did she feel less anxious live wearing sunglasses?
Just have a question. Did they always lip-sync this song? Every live version has been the studio version. Song is awesome but haven't heard an actual live version.
I never understood the appeal of Bananarama except that they are (and still are) good looking. Other than that, they are like friends singing karaoke together at a bar. Fun song though. And it was unique for the early 80’s.
Yes, they are really attractive, in addition to having sung their biggest hits in the 80s, they are pop icons and the most famous female group music in the world.
I think that was their appeal though, their USP if you like. They weren't my favourites as I liked Duran Duran, Depeche mode, bucks fizz, Madonna & a few others but I did like bananarama and always loved cruel summer, one of their more grown up songs but I could see the appeal, 3 young women / girls having fun and carefree and they didn't take themselves too seriously either.
They were all so breathtakingly gorgeous and the song is perfection and timesless. A classic forever..
100% agreed
No ridiculous outfits , nothing over the top, no inappropriate dancing or lyrics , no nasty faces , no profanity . I miss those days
Me too

They never dressed like prostitutes like most singers these days. They didn't want to be know as sex symbols either.🍌
These girls didn't need that crap. I can listen to this song all day lol.
On very hot summer days, this song often comes into my head.
I sing it every summer
I miss those days so glad I got to be a teenage in the 1980s

Keren, probably the cutest woman I have ever known.🍌
She is really gorgeous

This is my favorite Bananarama song! Everytime I see the official video, I always look for the WTC twin towers in the background. I miss the 80's! 😢
I want to travel to the 80s

私が 理性を保たれたのは、彼女たちの存在が欠かせない!彼女たちの事は、私にとって欠かせない存在である事は、変わりない!I LOVEバナナラマかみのごかごを
Those girls are adorable - I love this song, and the two others - Venus, and I heard a rumor.
Me too

Their best tune - 00bc - 2999ad - priceless & classic you tube, tv American bandstand , & god & Christ.

i remember seeing the first karate kid and the played it great song otherwise
It took me a long time to search for the song and years later I found Venus and then I searched more deeply for her songs and what a surprise it took me when I discovered that Cruel Summer was from Bananarama
They were the most outrageous band at the time, because they kept their clothes ON.
Nothing on American Bandstand was ever performed live though.
Jesus

IDK
Just have a question. Did they always lip-sync this song? Every live version has been the studio version. Song is awesome but haven't heard an actual live version.
because they cant sing live
You can search for that video. It's called Bananarama Cruel Summer Live Vocal Version 1983
Lypsync at it's best
👍
England s charlie s angels
this reminds me of karate kid
The best movie
The royalty checks they still collect also remind them of karate kid.
Taylor Swift is #1 on the Hot 100 charts with Cruel Summer. She ripped off Bananarama. Boycott Taylor Swift.
Someone need to stop her. She ripped our favourite band
Cruel summer is covered by Bananarama, moron
They lip syncing?
No, it's that the audio of the video is a little badly accommodated by the edition. It's something I didn't realize before
this is not live@@bananaramafanclub3679
