that kinda reminds me of what an instructor told me..even the basic figures/routines can be made to look good. sigh I have a long way to go apparently. but yes if this is meant as an instructional video perhaps they should leave out all that extra styling to their dance as it would only confuse a beginner.
@@hannahc6049 Cha cha cha? Definitely not! It's an American invention. Too stiff! Cha cha cha flows and hips must be in movement! Not like dolls with kind of stressed wires along their legs. The try to look sexy, but fail. Too artificial.
All these know-it-alls saying that the dancing is horrible, stiff, and that the guy is gay obviously, 100% do not even know what Latin ballroom dancing is, and it's style of dancing. Don't underestimate these dancers unless you truly have experienced the beauty of Latin dancing and the huge amount of physical demand required to even pull off this "basic" routine. Read up, watch real-deal competitions and showdances, then come back and give critique...
Al Rawandi Bro, touching on the physical demand is relevant because a lot of ignorant people think that this dance routine is nothing but just butt shaking. They don't understand the amount if precision and posture needed to make this routine look effortless and elegant. It's like saying "Oh football is so easy all u do is kick the ball and run here and there" "Football is a form of exercise, do it the way you want" but obviously u can't play football properly if u can't even angle your foot right to kick the ball. And i wasn't forcing people to like, people need to be understanding and respectful of things they don't fancy, not publicly shame and blurt out how awful they think something is, thus degrading such an art form. It's like being a racist jerk saying "Oh i just don't like blacks because they look dirty, my opinion though". See the similarities? Nothing forceful, just common sense.
Sara Ng The dancing is not stiff. It’s the guy who doesn’t show much movement compared to the woman. And I know this because I’ve done Latin for years Though I’m not professional
I recently started latin dance classes for fun and we started with the cha cha. After class I wanted to practice what I learnt and came across a great tutorial video and then I came across this video and my mind is blown away. This man is like a god and the woman a goddess with their own unique style in cha cha but they match so well in the dance like ying and yang. Flawless and brilliant. I can't stop watching this. Thanks for posting! ❤💥 Franco❤
This is very good and I completely disagree with the comment below, they had a great connection and they danced the routines with very good technique, don't know what Miguel is talking about tbh. It was very neat and it goes to show how good actions put on simple routines can make them so much better than a fancy open step routine with not good actions
@RikkyCZ how? He is a professional dancer with 30 years experience. The way he dance is very classy and showed respected to his partner. A man with a professional skill and very humble is gay? You’re a loser.
The arms...the waves in the torso (especially Oxana). These videos are targeted at bronze to gold dancers (I believe), not people who are trying to win Blackpool Pro Latin titles. It can get a little too daunting for beginners (personal experience).
True for cha cha #1, but cha cha #3 was a routine that they actually competed in the UK open one year. Search youtube for cha cha ricardo vs. franco and you'll see the...striking...similarities.
Beautiful. The only thing I didnt like was the line they used during the hockey stick when he wrapped her arm around her neck. The timing, choreography and technique are flawless though :)

The song is called Manfred's Mambo (sometimes spelled Manfreds Mambo as well), the artist is called "El Tattoo Del Tigre". You can find this version of the song from the CD titled "LatiNatura". Hope this information helps you find it.
Chacha music can be any speed. In this case, the chacha rhythm is there and their dancing on it is quite interesting and nice. One can dance a fast chacha or a slower one depending on the music, ..., that's what makes dancing interesting and fun. Different creations with different music.
They split May 2011 after the world professional Latin championship. They were ranked number two behind Yulia & Riccardo. She still dance but never found a partner equal to Franco. I prefer Oxana over Yulia.
This vedio shows a perfect body and technique of Franco Formica/Oksana couple doing Cha Cha basics. One could witness how Franco's body resilience is being exhibited in Cha Cha hip actions...Wunderbar...!
I doubt it. When Franko / Oxana was dancing as long as you are, they wouldn't had look much better than you. Remember they don't look this way after 6 months of dancing, they probably don't even look this way after 2 years. You need years of coaching and practice 8 hours a day to look like that.
This is something about too much girating, too much 'showmanship' and the stiff motion of women's arms in this sort of dance which takes away from the beauty and fluidity of what dance should be. . .
Hi Royal, Obviously you don’t like the International Latin style. That is OK. For your information, this couple was among the first dozen best dancers, in the entire word. (They don’t dance together any longer.) Their style is faultless and their shows are creative and artistic. Furthermore, this is a teaching video. Take a look at their competition or showcase videos, you may like them better.
@tayo992 actually all the routines used in the end of these routines are what they use to compete in, but they could win using any routine, they're that good. They may simplify it a little but not much.
new yorkers, cuban breaks, locks, side locks, swivels, natural top, opening out, spot turns, syncopated action, fan and hockey stick are very basic moves. This was taught to all beginners in our dance school. Now how they use the timing and accent their action is of course perfected making it look more advanced than it is. Maybe 2:55 on is more advanced maybe silver or gold level, but not the beginning.
does anyone have further information about the song? it's not on iTunes. does anyone know the artist and is manfred's mambo the correct spelling? Thanks.
@TheNathvar It is a very basic routine. The first 2 routines they show the basics then every time they do it after they show more elaborate movements. But still showing very clear basics.
absolutely, mostly bronze/silver level. a lot of very basic steps. they syncopated (interpret) the music differently that most dancer at that level and hence it looks very different.
You can find a good piece of cha cha cha music on TH-cam by googling “Lisa Del Bo Itsy Bitsy TH-cam”. It’s an excellent new version of the 1960 Itsy Bitsy Yellow Polka Dot Bikini-but done recently by Belgian vocalist Lisa Del Bo. The cha cha beat is very clear for dancing.
the music is somehow funny
i dont know why 😂
It kind of sounds like it should be used sarcastically or for really bad dancers trying too hard (instead of good ones like these).
Not kust the music, the dance too :)
anything with a baritone sax AND trombone is kind of funny
It sounds like when Spongebob did the Squirrel Joke thing.
The way her legs look when she's dancing is just incredible...that's how it's done!!

umm yeah but dancing isn't really about experience. Even a 1 year dancer can surpass a 10 year dancer...
Nice but definitely NOT basic.
Grey G the figures in the first dance are “basic syllabus figures” but the way they dance is anything but basic. They’re incredible

It's basic, they just executed the dance properly.
That dude has class
Dance class pfffffffff
I agree with you 100% Abby Bouts!

basic ??
realy
+PixelSlayer TV hahahahah
+PixelSlayer TV Yep, all basic moves: Natural Top, Fan, New Yorker, Cuban Break, Spot Turn ... all danced beautifully :)
beginning steps with "excellent Technique"
she moves in such a powerful way
That's actaually textbook overdancing. Every dance class has two or three of these types and they're almost always female and very VERY irritating.
Used to be Ron maybe just because the music is slow, more time to fill so more movent? It doesn't look like Cha Cha for sure.
