I’m surprised you don’t have a long reach excavator with a root rake attachment, could have cleaned that pit out in about 5 minutes compared to this disaster of a performance shown here
Surely if there is that much built up on hopper walls requiring that amount of time to clean a small portion of it then surely the hopper is the wrong shape to be fit for purpose
All you need to do is put your hose nozzle on high mist for dust control, not soaking the crap out of your dumps. Too much water application will cause your crusher funnel crown to cake up, like what been happening here. Put a sift bucket on that boom, and a good operator that knows the funnel crown setup to do job quicker than the time wasters you got.
If the operator positioned the tracks sideways he'd have a better view of what he was doing. Also needed a spoon about a foot wide. Definitely start at the bottom so the material can fall away.
@@vinny142 The "avalanche" ist the best result you could reach !! Do you really think that moving sand will pull this excavator into the crusher ???? 😂
How about getting a rotary attachment similar to forestry mulchers and put on a plastic brush. Start it up at bottom, clear to metal, pull up slowly until you get tp top. Move over and repeat. Also, try using those LONG excavator booms that can reach the other side...
A foot or so increasing the angle of the infeed angle would sure help stop this buildup. A poor infeed could be solved when it was installed. The opperator can use a lot of lessons on how to clear the buildup bt sweeping from Left to Right starting at the bottom.

Glad I'm not the only one who watched this thinking what a waste of time. He probably put four times more hours on that equipment than needed. If all you have is a toothpick, you still start at the bottom and work your way up.
How about investing in some pneumatic or hydraulic hopper vibrators? Then you wouldn't be dealing with all this buildup. In the meantime, tell your excavator operator to start and the bottom and then work up...
"How about investing in some pneumatic or hydraulic hopper vibrators?" A) They need that buildup to protect the hopper from the 100Tons of rocks that each truck dumps into it. B) Each truck dumps 100tons of material, and you think you can just shake that hopper hard enough to dislodge material? C) If you start at the bottom and 200tons of ore buildup starts to slide down, your digger is going with it.
The only thing “amazing“ about this is the complete misuse of equipment to do a simple task. Who thought it was a good idea to clear a 30 foot wall of dirt with a 6 inch wide hammer attachment?
Realmente yo esperaba este maravilloso momento. Personally I'd have a long reach excavator with 60 ft of boom and a smooth edge ditch buck on it, start at the bottom and work my way up, second of all I would mount vibrators under the back side of that hopper to help with the removal of all that build up, too much down time.
Who came up with this idea? Tool completely inefficient, plus operator seems confused. A large bucket/fork would have that job done in an hour. Very poor management skills.

They should use some kind of small dozer blade to push and pull the material into the hopper.
