Before the pandemic, my family and me lived in San Francisco. Quickly we discovered that it is not what it used to be. Cost of living and a lot of businesses closing has made it unrecognizable. Thanks for your video it was very informative.🌹

Can relate. I lived in NJ for many years and then left for the Bay Area for a job opportunity. Stayed 7 years and watched things progressively decline, particularly homelessness and crime. Was robbed multiple times, had my car stolen and never felt safe in many areas. I was constantly panhandled. Absolutely refused to use the BART. After COVID hit, I noticed a sharp decline in overall quality of life. That was enough and left for Florida. It's a shame as the city is visually spectacular and I made a lot friends there.

SF as of now is not only just dangerous, but volatile. Yes. You have a good point with extreme points of view on both sides of the political spectrum. January of 2020 I had to run into a building for a couple minutes- when I came back, the car I had rented had been ransacked. SFPD are far too busy and understaffed to respond to take a report. Further into 2020 there was rioting and looting as well as a shelter in place order. Not just because of Covid! I refuse to drive into SF at this point unless I’m able to stay in my vehicle (with self defense weapons) or in a locked , monitored parking garage with working cameras. The Bay Area of the early 2000’s is gone. I refuse to go to Oakland for any reason whatsoever at this point. Besides vehicle theft, also carjackings. As you also mentioned. The freeway shootings. So many seem to want to bash you for speaking truths. 100k a year is considered low income in the immediate SF Bay Area. The opiod epidemic claimed 806 lives in SF alone in 2023. 7x7 mile radius and 806 lives lost. The city has lost its luster even with SOME small areas that still shine bright. It’s disheartening. As far as the weather. I agree completely. I prefer sun to fog. While there is a lot of natural beauty, the cost is far too much. Between the actual cost of living , the cost of repairing or replacing vehicles, and the prices going up due to the retail theft. If I were braver, and able to …I’d move too.

Thanks, Dan. I also left the Bay Area just as the plandemic started and for all the reasons that you mentioned. Got out just in the nick of time.

@@IndependentBlazers What about your redemption? You start your video in 1991 - then jump to modern day, You admit to being a lazy failure who was not prepared to put the work in to succeed in SF - So you quit long before SF quit on you. As a quitter and a dropout, as someone who ran away (who even gripes about the fog), you have zero credibility in any sort of discussion as to what ails SF. You have nothing to offer because you don't know. You're reading from a list any google search spit out. You're trying to justify your exit by dumping on SF - but you have nothing interesting to say on the matter as you're a quitter like you say. That's all this is about. Some sort of Freudian deep-dive into the psyche of a quitter.
