- For Alaskan guide, Billy Molls, this was one of more than 40 Alaska Dall sheep hunts. For his client, Mike Rhoades, this was his first. The adventure they shared whittled them down to the core of their beings. Mentally defeated and physically exhausted, both men faced dark hours. They dug into their spirit, clung to what little faith they could find, and forged ahead. This is their story.

Think about this; The ram was born 10 1/2 years ago... right about the same time Mike's passion for sheep hunting was born. This ram was put here for Mike. Amazing hunt guys! Much respect.

Great Video and amazing hunt!! I love how authentic you were about how God provided the ram. Like you I had a similar experience when God spoke to me promising me a 60" moose if I would read the Old testament. I had grown up Christian but was in a very broken season trapped in bitterness, lust and anger. Somehow in the midst of reading the bible God drew me back to Christ and delivered me of the brokenness I was in. That fall 11 months later I shot a 63" moose on an amazing hunt, even knowing the day and rough location where we would shoot it. It was truly epic!
Since then I have felt to share the things God has done in my life but have often struggled with fear of what others would think of me.
I loved how you overcame this mountain stepping out to share your faith and telling how He had provided the ram. You conquered the mountain of fear of what others think of you and God reward you with an amazing hunt that you will always remember.
I have identified this mountain in my life and I am in the journey of overcoming it and the fear of what others think of me and your video was a great encouragement.

Absolutely amazing video. You have helped with my faith in this upcoming sheep season. I've been at it for 7 years or so with boots hard to the ground for the last 3. I've done 14 day solo trips for stones and have yet to connect. I Saw 185 sheep last year, 42 rams and none legal. After 10 days of forest fire smoke, rain and snow, popping my thermarest.. sleeping on rocks and snow, my spirit broke. One of my best friends convinced me to keep at it. This year work has only allowed me to get into the sheep mountains for 7 days. With new gear and determination I cant wait to hike the basins and fulfill my dreams and satisfy something so deeply engrained in who I am. Thank you for this video and I hope their are more to come.
You have it in you Keith. It’s a solo trip in your soul as much as it is in the mountains. God is with you every step talking to you. Just listen and talk to him. He will present that ram.

I took my last Dall sheep just as I was moving away from Alaska in 1977, but to this day I can still smell the fresh air, imagine the feel of the rocks under my boots, and the burning in my legs. I watched every moment of your video; you really told it like it is, or was, for me. Such a blessing to have the opportunity to share in your adventure and to be encouraged by your faith. Life doesn't always turn out like we think it will, but through it all we can have a comforting hand to hold, if we will just grasp it. Thank you for the best hunting video that I've ever seen and a real special thank you for sharing your faith. May the Lord wrap His arm around your shoulder and walk with you throughout your life. Great story, well presented--I had to wipe away a couple tears when Mike placed the satellite phone call.
Besides what we witness in the video, kudos to Mike for his prehunt preparation--says a lot about a person's dedication that they manage to shed 75 pounds in the flatland!

I'm not a guide but if I was Mike would be my ideal client, someone who prepped hard and wanted to be there- you could tell this was a literal dream come true not just another expedition to complete his trophy room. He handled himself under pressure big time too on that follow up shot (he also called the first berm shot lol). If you're reading this Mike- good job on the hard work, it all payed off with a well-deserved ram!
It may sound crazy that God would lead you to a TH-cam video, however, your message at the end of this video is 100% exactly what I needed to hear. I am a father of 4 girls, I am a believer, and I am a hunter. I always find it hard to share my faith in God with others, and I want to live as close to Christ as possible for my daughters to witness..... I’ve only ever hunted whitetails but I have had this insatiable hunger for something more. I’ve never been further west than Missouri, and I have a very tight budget. This year, I am hoping to draw a pronghorn doe tag in Wyoming, but sheep is where my dreams are at now. I will get there. I will get to the unlimited zone in Montana. I will get to the Brooks Range. Although, I do not know how this will happen. God will lead me there. Thank you for an amazing video!

Been a hunter/outdoorsman for many years, never had the money or time to invest in a hunt such as the one’s you guide Billy. Now with the kids grown, and money available, my knees, back, and disability say no. But seeing how God has worked in your life, given you a platform in which to share, I stand in humble adoration and awe of your hunts. I pause at this moment, 1:02:22, and tear up in relief and joy just as y’all did. What an amazing hunt so far. God Bless both of you, and your families. Direct reflection on my experience guiding here in Maine the past 20+ years. It's all relative. Just when you think you have it all figured out, you are tapped on the shoulder, and reminded that it's not up to us. Not sure if you read these still or not, but at 50 i realize i am here to not only learn, but to help others. Maybe we all are. You put it into words better than a lazy Mainer. I love this video. It captures the effort and emotion in a Dall Sheep hunt in Alaska. I did two hunts in the Alaska Range with my longbow, and ended up using a take-down rifle to kill my sheep on day 19. Only big game animal I have killed with a rifle. I am sharing this video with my sheep hunting buddy, as well as family and friends. This truly is what a sheep hunt is like. Well done , Billy.

i started out kinda down on this narrative. but man am i glad i saw it through. the biblical, life lessons that the narrator speaks of, cannot be avoided by the penitent. Loved this first person story and the lessons/rewards it offers!

Very inspiring video. I am stationed in Alaska and have four full hunting seasons left to achieve a dream of harvesting a ram. I grew up in Idaho, admiring a beautiful Dall sheep on my grandpa's wall that he harvested in the Brook's range back in the 70s. I never thought I'd have the privilege of living in such an incredible place and now it's time for me to get my own. It's stories like this that fuel my fire. So thank you.

I saw this video on TV a few months ago, but was busy doing g other things as I watched. As I layer here in bed unable to sleep and watched it again, in its entirety, I am inspired. Not only by the hunting success, but the message about life that you perfectly portrayed. I am not the most religious man, but I surely do not disbelieve. I do know, there is no possible way a person could stand in a place so beautiful and rugged and mean and perfect and not know there is a higher power. I hope I can find a way to put my boots on the ground up there.

I don't think you're going to let a fallen arch slow you up. I have a few years on you and have a fallen arch on both feet and still keep chugging along through my elk hunts. I know you put many more miles on than I do. Love the way you tell the story of each hunt.
