    I've ran several webinars about the project with the director Neal Spackman. The Al Baydha project is truly remarkable but it requires serious investment into expansion across the region before stable rainfall and greenery returns. It would an estimated 13-15 billion to regreen the entire Saudi Arabian Peninsula by scaling the approach of Al Baydha but that investment has not yet materialized, though the return would be 100X worth the investment. A bit of a bummer considering the trillions about to be spent on mega-cities that won't exist without water.

    • @infodockYT
      @infodockYT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds like a very small price to pay for a return of that amount. Let's hope we get to see it soon. I wish they spent it on the nature as well.

      I puzzle about this too, why they can't expand that project but spend on other trivial things?!

    The UAE and Saudi Arabia are farming in Arizona and draining the aquifers. For some reason AZ has never made any laws controlling the pumping of water from them. When they are dry, they are dry. There is no rain coming in an amount necessary to refill them. The UAE, Saudi Arabia and China in some states, are buying up farmland. I'm irritated at the people that sell it to them. Saudi Arabia also has sole ownership of the largest oil refinery in the US, located in Port Arthur, TX. Maybe Saudi Arabia can bring some of these greening methods with them for when they drain the aquifer dry.

    • @infodockYT
      @infodockYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You are right. They are doing to Arizona the same thing they did to their own aquifers, it's irreplaceable. It can not continue this way. There wouldn't need to be greening methods needed if everything was done in a moderated way from the start. Thank you for watching 🙏 expect more.

      It is actually funny when you blame the Saudis for doing something legal, and not blaming the state that allowed something like that to happen and done almost nothing about it.

    • @pamelawing5747
      @pamelawing5747 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@napolien1310Arizona is nuts and I don't get it but no it's NOT funny. The world had many issues regarding climate change and what if they made torturing 10 year olds legal. Hey, its NOT against the law.
      There is a big international meeting COP28, regarding climate change and to promote alternate sources of energy and the UAE is using that as an opportunity to be able to expand oil production into Africa and other regions. NO it 's probably not illegal but in some cases is can be immoral.
      Like other countries, they can get hold of Africa's resources with little wealth going to the country they are "developing".
      I don't expect you to get it or agree with it.

    Based on Abu Huraira, Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) said: " The Hour (of Resurrection) will not occur..... until the land of the Arabs returns to being pastures and rivers." (Sahih Muslim).
    A variation of this Hadith appears in Musnad Ahmad:
    "The Hour (of Resurrection) will not occur until the Arabian Peninsula returns, as it used to be, paradises and rivers." (Musnad Ahmad)
    The Quran in verses 26:131-135 mentions that the land of people of Aad in Arabia used to be like paradise before Allah destroyed the city and turned Arabia into desert because they disobeyed Allah.
    "So fear Allah and obey me. And fear Him (Allah) Who has helped you with the things which you know. He has helped you with cattle and children, And (also) with gardens and springs. Surely I fear the torment of a Terrible Day coming upon you. (Quran 26: 131-135)

    The first is an ambitious nation, with effective governance and social responsibility.

    They could also make good use of food waste from households, businesses etc and, despite any religious reservations about dealing with human sewage, with proper management, it would be a perfectly clean source of compost and fertiliser. Adding these to the soil in the right areas, at the right time, and in the right quantities, could rapidly speed up soil building and thus reclamation of the country's land.
    That fancy eco city MBS wants to spend inordinate (& ridiculous) amounts of money on, would be far better spent on a massive nationwide rollout of Al Bayda type projects while oil and gas revenues still remain as the world rapidly transitions to electric transportation. Sending billions of dollars from the Sovereign Wealth Fund out of the Saudi Arabian economy into areas such as Arizona & Ethiopia, which themselves are often drought stricken as is the case atm, is hardly a guarantee of food supplies, never mind the emissions from transportation of food importation over long distances, is completely bonkers.
    I personally think that for MBS it's more of a vanity project than any serious effort to provide a liveable solution to the Saudi people in a climate changed world, largely caused by the products the nation is famous for selling. Saudi Arabia could become an international clean energy powerhouse if it got a wriggle on now instead of procrastinating; Morocco & other Nth African countries will take their place on the energy supply front if they don't radically change their tune soon.

    • @infodockYT
      @infodockYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You raised very Interesting points. I also think that the money would have a more positive impact if spent on things like Al Baydha.

      @@infodockYT The whole of the Arabian Peninsula has some of the best solar resources after Australia. There's been some international discussion about an international HVDC interconnected grid system extending up into Europe & possibly eastwards into India & Pakistan etc. There's a Moroccan solar & wind power plant with an undersea HVDC cable taking the electricity up to the UK & construction is due to start soon. The premise is the sun & or wind is always shining somewhere. e.g low sun/wind winter's day in Germany they could import ⚡️from the Arabian Peninsula or Nth Africa.
      As for having lots of oil, little point in exploiting all of your fossil fuels resources to their fullest if it means destroying the very country you want to continue ruling over because it has no population because they all left due to heat stress, desertification & sea level rise.
      The entire Middle Eastern population stands to become climate change refugees if they don't pull their collective heads out of the desert sands & switch to renewables & storage & sustainable food production systems ASAP.
      I find it astounding that when you see overhead film footage of the gulf states that there's almost NO SIGN of rooftop solar on domestic, commercial, or industrial rooftops. Is that a lack of foresight, lack of planning regulation, or arrogance on the part of the authorities & complacency on the part of the general population?

    • @pinkelephants1421
      @pinkelephants1421 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@infodockYT The eye-watering amount of money MBS wants to spend on that fancy eco city is a bit like spending billions on new nuclear power plants. For the same money you can deploy far more clean energy, sustainable food production systems etc far far more quickly creating far less waste & greenhouse gas emissions & for a far greater positive effect without all of the legacy headaches. Literally more bang for your buck as the Americans would say.
      Imagine using solar powered seawater desalination instead of the highly polluting fossil fueled methods currently used for drinking, food production & reforestation. A lot of the Middle East looks the way it does because of thousands of years of poor land management. If you haven't seen it, take a look at Geoff Lawton's Greening the Desert project on TH-cam.

    I really dislike the idea of greening the desert. It is unnatural, done for profit, spending trillions, and it disturbs the climate on a much larger scale.

      How could it be paid I'm not a popular TH-camr and I don't have a huge reach. I'm just presenting this from the research I did. Of course, nothing is perfect but this mini project if replicated can bring wonderful results globally.

    Hmm. I have just watched about 70% of this video on another channel, an official Al Baydha channel, though the narrator on the other site didn't sound like a bored 19 year old with his fingers up his nostrils.

    Jesus Christ is returning soon. God Prophecies this is 600BC in the Old Testament, as a sign of Jesus Christ second coming, following his death on the cross and resurrection to eternal glory. 1 The wilderness and the desert will be glad, And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom; Like the crocus 2 It will blossom profusely And rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, The majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the Lord, The majesty of our God. 3 Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble. 4 Say to those with anxious heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; The recompense of God will come, But He will save you.” (‭‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭35‬‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭‬‬)
    Jesus said humble yourselves believe in him as your Lord, put your faith in him and confess your sins, receive the gift of eternal life.
    21 And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ (‭‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬‬:‭21‬ ‭‬‬)
    16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” (‭‭‭John‬ ‭3‬‬:‭16‬-‭21‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬)
