    I’m here 6 years later! I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this video. I had the same set up minus the under blanket. I was using it to camp in a National Park in the Canaries. It was up in the mountains from December to March. During the day, it was hot (T shirt weather) but by 3pm when the sun dipped behind the mountains and cast shadows … the temperature dropped. At night, without the under blanket it was bitterly cold - much colder than I was expecting. I also had a lightweight sleeping bag. A cheap one. After a few days, the zip broke! Anyway, I just wanted to say that I am looking to buy the under blanket. I bought the British Army modular sleep system, so all good in that department, but that cold taught me a good lesson about the cooling effect I experienced without that insulation under the hammock. Apart from that, I found it extremely comfortable and enjoyable to use. Thanks for the video Tom. I didn’t know you were in this video I’m already subscribed to your Fandabidozi channel and I love that. When this video started I thought : hang on, I know that voice 😊

      Thank you for your comment - The Scottish Highlands are certainly like enabling "easy mode" for making videos, the scenery is stunning :)
      Glad you liked the video!

    This was really helpful! I’m a tenter on winter trips usually but I’m looking forward to getting my frontline out there in the snow once i get my dd underblanket! Out here in New England the public hiking areas have backcountry leanto camping sites with an outhouse and usually some hammocking/tenting spots as well. It’s nice because you can safely do some experimenting with different shelter systems to figure out what works and if it doesn’t work out you can duck into the leanto. 👍🏼.
    I loved your happy fire dance!! You seem like a cool dude to hang out with!
    Thank you and take care!!😊👍🏼

      DD Hammocks, I just purchased the Rucksack and 3x3 tarp. I'm looking at the lightweight tipi for our family. How easy is the set up? I couldn't find any "how to's" or reviews.

    • @ddhammocks2418
      @ddhammocks2418  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your further enquiry. The set-up is rather simple: the groundsheet/floor is pegged out, before the main body of the Tipi is erected with the pole extended from the interior. This is pegged out around the perimter of the groundsheet & the guy-lines fixed. There is also an attached protective skirt to cover any gaps against the ground - also pegged out with the supplied pegs :)
      This is still quite a new product for us, however there are a couple of stop motion videos & schematics on the product page on our website - www.ddhammocks.com/product/dd_superlight_tipi
      I hope this helps!
