Loved you, Skylab. You were a great breakthrough. The project almost died in the crib, but that improvised solar shade and Pete Conrad, Joe Kerwin and Paul Weitz's grit and determination saved it.

Had the Space Shuttle been ready by its projected year of 1977, it would have been possible to remove large parts of Skylab -- such as the solar telescope, the exercise bike, shower, and portions of the solar panels -- and remove them to Earth. So @Blender Bach is no idiot. Try doing some reading, @Joe Crotty, before attacking someone.
To understand how people and objects will wander in zero gravity, watch the latest videos from the International Space Station. And then look at this ridiculous attempt to SIMULATE weightlessness. This is a shame for the American space program Skylab.

6.6m wide was huge, Starship will be 9m and v2 will be _18m_
Too bad they couldn't somehow take the station apart and bring it to Earth.
You're an idiot...

@@brianarbenz7206 Oh! I forgot I commented here a year ago. 😀 (Thanks) Luckily, we still have the plans, so technically, we can make another one.
@@accounter11 Very Immature
Technically it did

Wonder who trimmed Pete's eyebrows in space? Just sayin'...
Classic propaganda 😂
There's nothing more fun to watch than old-timey science-fantasy sold as reality.
Bad design to much outide

To be fair, the two projects were started over 20 years apart. That's like trying to compare an Apple II to a modern Mac.
A shower! 🚿 now that’s futuristic
