- Gary takes the Hornet and Smyth trailer to Co Meath. He gives us his thoughts on the Smyth trailer and whether the Hornet is able for it.

Impressed how quickly it comes down
Down here in Italy we have 4 axle trailers, and they steer better than the 3 ones, because 3 axles turns instead of 2, but some of those gates are very very small.

Looks great, was the 16ltrs an hour from the computer reading? My experience of a 4220 is they use alot more fuel than they tell you.
Want to take it handy on them roads. Thought I was going to get rear ended by ye turning into a lane. Nice tractor and trailer tho.

It takes a good man or woman on the steering wheel to negotiate those tight gates Gary. You have a HGV licence which is a great help as the Fastrac and fully laden trailer is close to 30 ton or so, If this was my rig I wouldn't let a 16 year old drive it...
When turning left does rear wheel of tractor go near to positive steering rod
On mine it goes near but because the way the trailer turns in you can never seem to scrub it
The bar disappears under the rub bar on the drawbar if that makes sense. Doesn't hit but it is close.

theyre a relatively good followin trailer them smyth full with a 930 on her 37000kgs on the weighbridge full...
A 7 ton Scania can handle another 30+ tons behind it..... Same idea with the Fastrac...... quality engineering and good brakes and suspension means it has the same ability as a road Truck..
