- Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today we are doing an evolution drag race! We have 60 seconds to build a dragster and race them. Whichever dragster wins becomes the new default car for everyone to build off of and modify. We get another 60 seconds to improve after each race, taking the winning car to improve on each time. Whoever does the best at improving the builds wins!

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

well yeah, basically everything does in these videos lmao, could easily turn half of the "evolution" creations in planes using like 5 clicks
You could make a trike race in the dangerzone or a king of the hill with dynamite or a no wings, plane race in the race zone.
A no wings plane race is cool but is it still called a plane with no wings?

That’s when my boat would come in handy because it can fly as well as be a submarine. And it only has thrusters and a tail that allows it to fly.
This evolution thing is so cool! You should do it with hoverboards planes and all that stuff

This whole concept of evolution seems really fun, I'm looking forward to seeing more versions of this!! 😃 You could make one for each race in danger zone or/and make your own races with different kinds of vehicles.

minimum 3 minutes for the first build, then 1 minute for each evolution after. i think that would make it far more interesting, 5 minutes would give you a complete car that probably wouldnt need to be tweaked much

This was a really interesting episode.
It would be cool to see how this turns out with at least one circuit or sprint race and also the crown game mode. After every star or round wind, you get to make changes, just to see how you guys would try to counter each other.
Deconstruction challenge:
Everyone start with a maximum number of parts, and every lap/checkpoint 1 part has to be removed until someone wins the race or no one else's build works

Scrapman's skin in this game:
Red color (stands for chinese flag) and the mask of plague doctor - this is the "COVID-19 THEME OUTFIT"!
You could pick three different race tracks (like pavement, offroad, and one with jumps) and do the evolution thing. Build a car, race on all three tracks and whichever design gets the most points moves on. Also, points would work like this: 1st gets 2 points, 2nd gets 1 point, 3rd gets 0 points.
Everything should evolve! Great series! I understand the concept tmkf everyone taking the "most evolved" but I think you all should just evolve yours throughout the process. That way we get to see different vehicles

A tip for the oversteer: put most of the weight in the front
This is definitely a cool format. It might be improved by /slightly/ longer build times though.
the fact that 'some guy' got 30 seconds of his own in a scrapman video is a huge accomplishment for his name
You could make a 3 in 1 vehicle race with this concept. Maybe you get like 2 to 5 minutes time to build and in the first round 5 powercores and each round 5 more.

Do an evolution part two but with rally cars. This time add like 2min instead.

Every time he put small wheels on the back I screamed in my head
The slims will give you the fastest speed if they are unpowered and you're not planning on steering. The physics behind it is less contact with the ground means less friction so more speed. Even further than that would be to camber skis on their edge. It doesn't make any IRL sense to essentially "skate" on asphalt, but that's what happens when you do that and you have really no control. I've made jet powered sleds like that for the centrifuge with just a slim wheel at the back for the requirement of a wheel being on the course. It's not the fastest thing in the game, but it's pretty wild.
Scrapman with normal wheels: 6.8 seconds
Scrapman with slim wheels: 8.6 seconds

You should all start at the same time. That way you can be 100% sure which one is a better design

EVERY SINGLE TIME, Scrapman starts crooked and if he is forced to straighten up mid race he looses control. He should straighten up at the start.
i recommend changing the way the evolution thing works to make it more like evolution and less like simple progression. I think each building round should be 3 minutes, and the number of power cores should only increase every other round

i really hope you do this with other races/forms of vehicles, and maybe with added variations beyond power cores
You should do this with BATTLE VEHICLES!!! Like tiny little gocart tanks. Maybe even an helicopter with a gun. Wait actually make helicopters.
Its a good idea, but I think the 60secs was a little to rushed, maybe 3min or 5min each round to give for some bigger changes.
Definitely more evolution races, but maybe evo-plane race.

If you do something more complicated like plan or sub evolution, maybe you should have either more initial build time, or a basic vehicle to build off of
Good idea for viewers: play along with the people and see if you win with your creation if so continue with yours if not rebuild the other person's creation.
You should do a long range artillery or rocket battle using the dynamite, you could even try to destroy someone's base from a long distance using rockets
I'm missing my science lessons so i hope this is better than the last video.
Really like the concept...think a dragster was probably the best trial for it though. Maybe a straight-line boat race...but I don't think there's an official track that you can use for measuring.
All purpose evolution start with 10 power cores and 300 blocks the blocks go up by 50 and power cores up by 5.
No deleting and only 4 hover pads.Only ten minutes and 4 thrusters. 20 wings only and 2 fins only.
Only truck wheels or dirt wheels.

Next time. Every evolution gets 50% more time, and twice the previous power cores.
Suggestion:race with only one engine
