if he can win another 20 world cups, then maybe he could get there. Aaron gwin brought a new level of speed when he was on Trek. Whole wave of riders had to catch up to him. This is just the next level and progression of the sport
Well if you have been following WC DH for a long time you will know that it's way too early to say for sure, first of all. And second of all, Aaron Gwin did likewise, as did Sam Hill before him, as did Nicolas Vouilloz before him, and in between all of them many riders pushed things forward too. It would be a great insult to Anne-Caroline Chausson to not mention her. Or Rachel Atherton. My point is that you have to be not just hot for one season, but do it so often everyone's racing for 2d, more or less. What Jackson has as a difference is a youth spent at one of the world's finest MTB playgrounds, surrounded by some of the world's more technically difficult steep terrain. (Though honestly the Alps Dolomites etc have the same steep/tough terrain). The youth in a bike park, it is revealed not just in Jackson's performance but in the performance of many young riders, Women's and Men's categories alike. I hope Jackson continues to ride with big line vision and great confidence. He's fun to watch.
@@seanoneil277Bro you don't have to be a genius to see that jackson is special and will win more races if he stays healthy. His speed in technical and steep sections was just on another level this year.
When he picks up the chainsaw at the end..what a moment! This run is perfection. Fast an smooth through every section. I am so glad he recorded the POV.
This is one of the best winning runs I've ever seen! Some of those gaps he pulled for are absurd, and especially on this track in the conditions it was in! Every second was full gas, and not a single real mistake either. Future GOAT in the making right here.
I love how he has taken his smaller stature and lighter body weight, traditionally a handicap in downhill, and created a whole new riding style that is next level. So amazing to watch him ride. Godspeed Jackson.
His runs do look totally different from other racers. The Red Bull Hardline videos from last year really showed it. He just seems to float over the track and he gets around tight corners faster than what seems physically possible.
*The new Muhammad Ali of DH. Float like a butterfly!* The last time I had a reaction like this was watching Amaury Pierron in Les Gets. For me, this just topped that. A longer track and even greater skills on show. So happy for you Jackson. You are not a boy. You are the man!
We are witnessing the GOAT in the making, first year elite 2 wins 5 podiums comes 2nd overall also getting flats in 2 races if his tyres held up he would have smoked Bruni for overall, seriously just so good 😮🚵🏼🔥 and the chainsaw at the end wow gave me goosebumps!!!!
Easy there PR machine blitz. Simmer down. Overstatement may be what you hipster youth do at this early phase of the 2d decade of the 21st Century but I assure you it's a phase as fleeting as a mayfly's adult winged life. Calm down already.
97% of the population has zero iota of a clue how much talent and guts this sport takes. Hopefully Mr.Goldstone can spear head the up and coming athletes and really turn the sport up a notch! Amazing run.
It's insane. The acceleration he gets outta this berms is mind boggling. He's so much better at it than anyone else. Watch some of his videos with Finn, who's also amazing at cornering, but Jackson just disappears around em.
@@topspot4834 Yeah Finn is a beast too. The video of Jackson getting his RB helmet was awesome. The only guy I can think of that corners even close to Jackson is his teammate Laurie Greenland.
@@bullit4x yeah, maybe legend is a bit strong ;) That being said, when you win Hardline at 18, win 2 races and finish 2nd overall in your 1st year as a pro after winning the overall junior champs the year before, you have to recon that he's off to a good start!

As good as Jacko is now, it’s bloody scary to think what he’ll achieve as he physically gets stronger in the next few years. Already on another level… generational talent on two wheels! Stay healthy young king!
They say Go-Pro doesn’t really give you the perspective of how fast or gnarly well that’s wrong after watching that…sheesh🔥Congrsts to Jackson impressive first season in Elites👏🏼👏🏼
He wont carry speed at Fort William.. too light... but in the rough stuff it's basically a bike floating downhill. What does he weigh... 120 pounds max! lol.. what an epic rider. Great Season..
This young man will end his career as the greatest rider of all time. He's on another level.
Agreed. I get the same feeling watching him as I did Tony Hawk, Shaun White, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods ... You know you're witnessing greatness!!
no doubt at the rate hes going

EPIC! Congratulations to the young GOAT... imagine toasting someone like Loic by over 6 seconds in your first year. Amazing.
Loic needed to be above the 7th place to win the overall, he did not take any risk.
2:08 wow that's some precision launch into channel
I like how all the times were within 10ths of a second, then Jackson rolls in and drops 4 seconds on everyone. Legend.
Dude is one with his bike. Never seen someone so comfortable and fluid.
Absolutes insane speed. Crazy corner speed. Love watching him ride. Incredible guy.
HOLY SHIT, WHAT A RUN, WHAT A PACE, WHAT MOVES ON THE BIKE. Steve Smith is PROUD for sure!!! CONGRATS!!
He doesn't ride a bike , he practically flies it .Best downhill run I've ever seen , that kid is something else man .
LMAOOO

Gwin on this same track still holds the most "unbelievable" run.
masterclass by gapson goldstones
UNREAL! He floated down that track! Congrats Jackson! You earned it.
He was floating. Those rocks and slabs at the end……
Sick run, incredible commitment to his lines. This win is 100% deserved and hopefully next year he can go one better in the overall 👍
That was totally insane. the speed he was going through those rocks was unbelievable! Nice riding Jackson!!!
We are witnessing MTB history! Go on Jackson, keep digging for that GOAT status!
With the chainsaw at the end. Chills!

Every time i see this speed , precision , concentration …. For me is unreal… epic ! Thanks Jack for this emozions !
Made me take my mountainbike to work instead of the commuter. Best I've seen in a long time.
It’s unearthly how he changes direction so quickly and with such precision- all the while making it seem like he’s flying a hovercraft
Jack was on a ripper all weekend, let’s gooo!🤙🏼🇨🇦
born a legend! return of the king.
Was super special run, glad I watched it live🧡🧡🧡🧡
It’s a pretty safe bet that we’re watching the next world champion and/or UCI DH season champion in the making here. He is absolutely incredible.
That look on Loic’s face after Jackson’s run. He seemed happy to win the overall, but not at all okay with being smoked by over six seconds.
Nah he was contented and happy for Jackson.
You're gloating as if you did the run, rather than someone else besides yourself.
i saw it as well, he's a total competitor. However he did not take any risk, he just needed to be above the 7th place.
Loic had to ride conservatively, Jackson rode 100% flat out. They were on the same course but running entirely different races!
respect - too keep it on ALL the way. fit and focused. long downhill, also very varied.
This kid is going to leave a big mark. He has young Gwin/Loic vibes. Keep it going.

Smaller riders excel on these twisty courses. This is the perfect course for him and he nailed it.
He's so fast and smooth. Congrats Jackson. 👏 👏🤟🤟
That was the most incredible riding I have ever seen! Next level riding 4 sure! Insane!!!!!!!
Perfect run..what a weapon!

Just wow. What a run!

Insane speed
Crazy control.

OMG it's so long! If I did that even 4x slower I would need to rest for a week 😂
Not too bad though…. For me the RUN would take a week…
Unreal.
Best celebration ever haha

That is without a doubt the best race run of all time
Go Jackson!!! Someday I’d like to see the pros race blind, with no pre runs or practice laps.
badass
Insane how much pressure he puts on the front in the berms 😳

Near perfect!

There is Jackson...and then the rest.
next Year he‘s gonna smash the WC!
But let’s see what Mr. Pierron has to offer…
Loic didnt even lift his trophy. He was digusted by his performance.
Can we also talk about the crowd? Cause that's a fuckin crowd.
Some of the video looks fake he's cornering so fast! Craziness
If he is healthy, no one else will win an overall for the next decade.
Average speed: 40,9 kmh / 25.4 mph
Unbelievable run!
And also what are the UCI goons trying to do at the finish line. FOH.
