Ian Whitcomb Interviews Shelton Brooks (1972)

The late British rock star and popular music historian Ian Whitcomb interviews legendary ragtime era songwriter Shelton Brooks in 1972. Originally, Ian asked me not to post this video because Brooks was elderly and it does not represent him at his best, but I recently realized this is still a rare, historic document that should be shared. Included are the stories behind Brooks's hits such as "Some of These Days" and "The Darktown Strutters' Ball." Pianist Dave Bourne also appears at the end of the video.
