Taiping has been one of our favourite annual retreat for the past 10 years. When we were living in KL, we went to taiping once every year since 2013. Now we reside in penang, so the trips are much more frequent but usually we would go on a day trip instead of staying overnight. There are few eateries you guys should check out on the next visit to taiping, oasis Yemeni arabic cuisine. Lian thong restaurant (run by oldtimers). Not sure if the quality is still the same as before since we haven't been there since the pandemic. Roti canai railway (for their roti burung special and roti canai, of course). Chef food restaurant (chinese muslim chef). Food court behind firestation aka yong tau foo belakang bomba, i don't eat yong tau foo but there are few stalls selling delicious food there. There's one malay stall without name selling nasi ayam during lunchtime and it's surprisingly delicious. Stall number is 8. Sometimes you'd find good food at unexpected places.
Some of the food you showed at Larut Matang food court are average at best and don’t really do Taiping food any justice.. for example , taiping netizens prefer the mee rebus in Aulong area …also a lot of good food can be found in pokok assam area

Food prices in Taiping has gone up tremendously this year because of tourism.
Hopefully it is still cheaper compared to other towns & cities
It’s still much cheaper by comparison to Penang or kl food prices

The repetitive cheezy music does not help.
