Mr.Morrison, We just had a death in the family and my nephew inherited two Hughes bits. The story is that there are only three in existence, one in a museum and 2 of bits in my nephews possession. It's not a tricone, I think it's 5 or 6 (waiting on that photo). I have the information off of it. 7 J52772-1 It also says "Prop HUGHES Tool CO" Ser. No. XXX I have been asked to research it to find out if it's scrap or something special. Any information you could provide would be greatly helpful and appreciated. Thank you!
I too just located what I think is a tri cone bit that may have come out of the Hughes Tool corporate office years ago. Is there anyone that can tell me how to research it? This one has an LH number on it?
I worked at Hughes Tool from 1969 to 1972, my brother also worked there. Workers parked their cars and walked thru a tunnel to enter the plant.
