You should review wholesome animes like Redo of Healer and Overflow. They are totally family friendly, you should definitely watch it with your friends as well !
if you think the pacing in this show is bad, I recommend the absolute clusterfuck that is "Shining Hearts: Bread of Happiness". I lack the words the describe not only the pacing of this show but the general quality of it I simply couldn't believe what I was watching.

The high school situation gets worse. Like, we see all of ONE high school during all of the series, and only ONE of the main cast goes to it. Then it quickly degenerates into another tournament, that has even less highschool. Until it goes back to the end of the world.
